Welcome to Creative Arts East Autumn Season 2009
Against a background of economic uncertainty, this season is all about bringing affordable, quality entertainment to the comfort of your village halls and world class performers into the heart of your communities. I’ve cast my net wide to guarantee exceptional performances from Anglo African musicians, Boka Halat and classically trained string trio, Kosmos. For half term, you’ll find children’s theatre at its best. Keep the whole family spellbound by Garlic Theatre’s hilarious interpretation of nursery classic ‘Old Mother Hubbard’ and the brilliant ‘Rapunzel and the Tower of Doom’ from Theatre of Widdershins. Lighten up those cold, dark nights with comedy from legendary wit, Mervyn Stutter – he will makes you laugh until your sides split! For more serious drama, don’t miss ‘Elvis Still My Heart’ by the very popular Pretty Good Girl Dance Theatre and two monologues “Talking Heads’ from the master of observations himself, Alan Bennett. With magic from ‘Miracle of 34th Street’ to put you in the mood for Christmas, why look any further? You don’t need to – it’s all coming to a village hall near you!

1970. Elvis has left the building. Or has he? An explosively physical tale of love, secrets and acceptance. Dance theatre just as it should be – funny, fast, poetic, sexy and downright rock’n roll. Hits from The King and a script to dance for. This is a fine example of writing doing a jitterbug with dancing. Suitable for ages 12+
