							                        FAQ’S ABOUT THE A.C.E. PROGRAM
PLEASE SEE THE PARENT HANDBOOK/TERMS OF AGREEMENT FOR FURTHER DETAILS

1) Q: What is the River Vale Education Fund?
A: The RV Education Fund is an independent 501 (c) 3 foundation that serves the
children of River Vale Schools to advance their academic and social well being. We work
collaboratively with the RV Board of Education and Superintendent’s Office to ensure
     uniform program objectives.

2) Q: How will this program differ from the previous after school program?
A: The A.C.E. program will provide, at a minimum, the same services currently offered
through the YWCA Before and After School Program. Our goal is to eventually offer
     enrichment type programs.

3) Q: What hours will the before and after care program run?
A: The before care program will run 7:30am to the first bell. The afterschool program
will run from dismissal until 7pm.

4) Q: Who can pick up my children from after care?
A: Only authorized individuals can pick up your child. These people will be appointed by
you upon filling out the registration form.

5) Q: Who will the staff be for the A.C.E program?
A: The staff will consist of qualified professionals, teachers, graduate students, and
     other carefully selected team members.

6) Q: What do I do if my child is sick?
A: There will be a number provided for all parents to call if a child is sick or absent. A
message needs to be left with the child’s full name, date of absence and a return phone
number. If we are not notified of your child’s absence, we will contact you to verify that
you are aware of his/her absence.

7) Q: What are the fees if my child is picked up late, and can my child be permanently
dismissed for numerous infractions to the policy?
A: The late fees can be viewed on our website. There will be actions taken to dismiss
students if they are continuously picked up past 7pm. This issue will be addressed with
the parent/guardian in hopes to keep the students in the afterschool program. No one
will be expelled from the program without proper notification.

                                              1
8) Q: Can my child be permanently dismissed for bad behavior?
A: Within the terms of agreement and parent/student handbook, which can be
located on our website, there is a policy stating actions will be taken to remove students
who violate the behavioral code. We will take a strong stance in keeping this
environment safe from physical, emotional and social disturbances.

9) Q: What happens if I am late or miss monthly payments?
A: There will be a $25.00 late fee assessed for any late payments.

10) Q: Will the program be operating during inclement weather, holidays or other
    scheduled school closings?
A: The program will not run if school is closed due to inclement weather, holidays or
scheduled full day closings. In addition, if any of the schools in the district are closed
due to emergency issues the program will not run for those days.
