Facial waxing aftercare advice Please follow the guidelines below to ensure that your skin is cared for properly for the next few days. Please note that slight soreness and small bumps and redness are quite common after a wax treatment and are perfectly normal temporary reactions. Any symptoms should subside within 24/48 hours. Avoid extreme heat for 24 hours. This includes very hot showers, steam rooms, saunas and Jacuzzi’s as this can aggravate the skin and the pores are still open. No facials or heat treatment for at least 24 hours. No fake tan for 24 hours. Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools. Avoid applying perfumed products to the area as this could make it sore. Make-up should be avoided for the rest of the day of the treatment although mineral make-up is fine. Waxing removes dead skin so the skin may be a little lighter immediately following the treatment, colour will return to normal after a few hours. A heat reaction may be seen on the skin for several hours following treatment and this is quite normal. This will vary from a mild redness to a much stronger reaction and some people have red dots on the area for several hours. A cold compress using cooled boiled water and a cotton pad can be applied to the area to reduce the redness if necessary. If the aftercare advice given is followed the skin will return to normal within 24/48 hours. If any reaction is still present or worsens after this time it may be that you have had an allergic reaction to the wax and you should seek medical advice from a pharmacist or G.P. I do use a very delicate wax that is suitable for sensitive skin for facial waxing but if you have any concerns I can perform a patch test 24/48 hours before the treatment if required. If you have any questions about this treatment please contact me on 07743404222.
