63. You administer a network with four subnets connected with three routers. Subnet A is
connected to subnet B, subnet B is connected to subnet C, and subnet C is connected to subnet D.
You use the tracert utility on COMPUTER_A on subnet A to trace the route of a packet as it
travels to COMPUTER_D on subnet D. If the packet travels from COMPUTER_ A to
COMPUTER_D successfully, how many hops will be reported by the tracert utility?

a. 1 b. 3 c. 2 d. 4

64. You are using a Windows NT Workstation 4.0 computer on a Novell NetWare 5.0 network.
You attempt to contact a computer with the TCP/IP host name Rover, but you cannot contact this
computer by using its TCP/IP host name. You know that Rover’s IP address is, and
you use it to successfully ping the Rover computer. What is the most likely cause of this

a. The Domain Name System (DNS) is incorrectly configured.

b. The LMHOSTS file is incorrectly configured.

c. The Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS) is incorrectly configured.

d. The IP address of the remote computer is incorrectly configured.

65. Pat oversees a network with five subnets: subnet 1, subnet 2, subnet 3, subnet 4, subnet 5. A
Windows 2000 computer user on subnet 4 complains that although he can connect to local
servers, he cannot connect to a Windows 2000 Server computer on subnet 1. Other users on
subnet 4 have no trouble connecting to the subnet 1 server. Pat runs IPCONFIG on the
workstation and notes the following output:
