About 38 Tribes in the Plains Region: Pawnee, Ojibwa

 Mountain:
 Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah,
 Oregon, Washington, and
 Wyoming

  About 40 Tribes in the Plateau Region: Nez Perce,
  Shoshoni, Yakama, Spokane, Salish
Plateau Indians
Plateau Indian Chiefs and Young Indian Men
Plateau Indian Women Crushing Berries
      Plateau Region


Dugout log canoes were used by most
groups, but usually just for transportation
and not for fishing
Plateau Tribe- Nez Perce Horses: Appaloosa
Plateau Headdress and Loop Neck: These pieces were
         commonly worn by men of the tribes.

Plains Indian Grass & Mud lodges and Teepees: Great Plains
Indians used buffalo skins for the Teepees and painted sacred pictures on them.

Great Plains Hairdos and Loop Necklaces
Great Plains Indian Clothing and Quillwork: The Plains women
made the clothing for the entire tribe. The clothing was made out of animal skins.




                            QUILLWORK (a form of
                            embroidery)
                            Quills were used to decorate
                            clothing, moccasins, bags, and
                            baskets.
