1) Applicants must earn a minimum of 10 points. At least 4 points must be from LIST I
(except seniors applying in Feb or June). The first 7 points (total) must come from a
combination of List I and List II (all 10 points may come from List 1).
2) ONLY 5 COURSES MAY BE USED TO QUALIFY.
3) NO CSF points are given for Physical Education, subjects repeated for a grade
change, student clerk, teacher’s assistant, or pass/fail credit classes.
4) CSF points are granted as follows:
A = 3 pts
B = 1 point
C = 0 pts
D or F in ANY COURSE is an automatic disqualification.
Note: A or B grade in an Honors or AP course may earn 1 extra point each, for a maximum of 2
points. (Making the maximum number of points possible 17 points).
Semester membership is based on work done in previous semester. Under very limited
circumstances, summer school may be used. See advisor.
You must REAPPLY and QUALIFY EACH SEMESTER.
Courses must be from List 1, 2, and 3 on reverse side.

which must integrate: intellectually challenging material, substantial amounts of reading and
writing, critical thinking/problem solving skills, and lab work (in case of sciences). Meet or
exceed CSU/UC entrance requirements.
*List 2 courses are not specified on List 1, but have a similar amount of rigor, including
regular homework, in both core and elective areas.
