        "ARRIVAL" # 2T6401

More than a dozen years ago, a meteor shower burst from the heavens, raining
destruction on the unsuspecting citizens of Smallville, Kansas. The intervening
years have left the town's inhabitants with scars and secrets. From the ashes of
tragedy, Clark Kent (series star TOM WELLING) has grown into an awkward
teen. While adolescence always brings its challenges, Clark's transition from
boyhood to manhood has been particularly difficult. He has struggled to come
to grips with his emerging superpowers--and the effects of various forms of
kryptonite--while battling the strange things that have plagued this idyllic
Midwest hamlet since the meteor shower.

The guardians of Clark's secret identity have always been his adoptive parents,
Jonathan (series star JOHN SCHNEIDER) and Martha (series star ANNETTE
O'TOOLE) Kent--although Clark's friend Chloe Sullivan (series star ALLISON
MACK) recently learned of Clark's powers. Over the years, Clark has forged a
remarkable relationship with Lex Luthor (series star MICHAEL ROSENBAUM),
son of scheming Lionel Luthor (series star JOHN GLOVER), although neither Lex
nor Clark has an inkling of how their destinies will ultimately collide. Lex has
constantly fought his dark destiny, but it is becoming obvious that this is a
        battle he cannot win.

Clark and Chloe have graduated from high school, along with Clark's girlfriend,
Lana Lang (series star KRISTIN KREUK). After stealing a crystal from Lex, Clark
brought it together with two others and disappeared into a vortex that brought
him to the arctic tundra, the location of Clark's Fortress of Solitude. Now, Clark
is confronted by his biological father, Jor-El (voiced by TERENCE STAMP), who
tells him he cannot return to Smallville. Instead, Clark must stay and prepare
to save the planet. Also transported to the Fortress, Chloe is unable to handle
the subzero temperature and collapses, begging Clark to use his powers to save
her. Jor-El forbids him to leave but finally acquiesces, telling Clark he must
return before sunset or there will be dire consequences.

Meanwhile, Lana is horrified when she sees two Kryptonian aliens emerge from
a spaceship discovered in the remnants of the recent second meteor shower.
The two aliens destroy what's left of the town searching for Clark, whom they
        know as Kal-El.

15:00 Around The World In 80 Days PG13 Comedy Adventure
Action Comedy Adventure. Jackie Chan, Steve Coogan, Jim Broadbent, Cécile De
France, Ewen Bremner. 2004: Frank Coraci. 122 min.

Breezy globetrotting actioner about a martial arts man and an inventor who join
forces to win a bet and return a stolen jade statue to its rightful owner. Plenty of
        cameos by big-name stars.

Jules Verne’s novel has been filmed twice – in 1956 starring David Niven and in
1989 starring Pierce Brosnan. This version, made by Walt Disney, stars Steve
Coogan as eccentric inventor Phineas Fogg who, in the late 1800s, bets his rival,
the smug Lord Kelvin, that he can circle the globe in 80 days. Fogg and his
acrobatic assistant, Passepartout, set off on their journey, hotly pursued by both
the English police and a gang of Asian warlords, led by a woman. Turns out
Passepartout is really Lau Xing, a wanted criminal who’s stolen a rare jade
statue from the Bank of England, and now several people want it back! But Xing
is no thief – he’s just trying to return the statue to its rightful owners, from
whom it was stolen in the first place. You’ll be rooting for the duo as they cross
oceans and dash from country to country, trying to fight off bad guys and make
        the deadline.

17:00 House I 13

collapses in her classroom after uncontrolled gibberish slips out her mouth while
she is about to teach her students. She is taken to Dr, House and his team of
experts who identify it might be a tumor, and she might have only a week to
        live.

18:00 Big Bounce, The 13VNL Thriller Comedy
Comedy Thriller Drama. Owen Wilson, Sara Foster, Morgan Freeman, Charlie
Sheen, Gary Sinese, Bebe Neuwirth, Vinnie Jones. 2004: George Armitage. 88
        min.

Frothy crime caper set In Hawaii, starring Own Wilson as a petty crook who gets
caught up in the schemes of a femme fatale who wants him to rob a nasty
hotelier. Based on the novel by Elmore Leonard.

Thanks to the comedic talents of Owen Wilson, this remake of Elmore Leonard’s
novel is considerably lighter than the 1969 version starring Ryan O’Neal, but it’s
just as watchable, and there are just as many twists and turns. Wilson plays
Jack, a likeable surfer, handyman and petty crook who heads for Hawaii where
he lands a job in a construction business. But not for long. An altercation with
the foreman (Vinnie Jones) leads to a heart-to-heart with a judge (Morgan
Freeman), who gives him a second chance by getting him a job at a bungalow
resort. Here Jack meets the gorgeous Nancy, a femme fatale who’s stringing
two other men along, and who wants Jack to rob one of them, the nasty Ray
(Gary Sinese). This could be Jack’s big chance, but is Nancy all she pretends to
be? For that matter, is anyone else? One critic described this movie as “a sinful
        pleasure”.

Action Horror. Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Biel.
        2004: David S Goyer: 105 min
Violent, campy actioner in which our super-cool hero teams up with a joker and
sexpot to outfight the king of vampires, a royal pain-in-the-neck.

Super-cool vampire slayer Blade, the popular Marvel comic book hero, is back.
Blade, a hybrid creature who is half-human, half-vampire, has powers mere
mortals can only dream of. Not for him old-fashioned methods like garlic and
sunlight to get rid of the bloodsuckers – no, Blade uses lethal modern weapons,
superior fighting skills, and occasionally he even talks. If the world needs
saving, Blade’s your man, er, half-man, half-vampire. This time, he’s joined by
two sidekicks, the sexy, high-kicking daughter of his undead friend, and an
assistant who, even when the body count is sky-high, can always think of
something funny to say. So who’s our hero up against this time? The king of
vampires, that’s who, who has a “final solution” to rid the world of humans once
and for all. Now if this guy hadn’t been lazing around in a coffin for millennia, he
would have known that some other fellow tried that in the 20 th century, and
failed miserably. Vampires may be immortal, but they sure are stupid…

Action Comedy. Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Juliette Lewis, Snoop

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson (Zoolander) team up again to play a straight-arrow
cop and his slacker partner who go after a drug kingpin. This spoof of the hit
‘70s TV series has plenty of fabulous songs and fashions from the era.

Take two mismatched cops, Huggy Bear, some Village People outfits,
cheerleaders and a fabulous ‘70s soundtrack, and you’ll get some idea of what
this comedy is all about. That’s right folks, it’s dream team Ben Stiller and Owen
Wilson again, teaming up for their sixth movie together (the others were The

Sci-Fi Action. Will Smith, Bridget Moynahan, James Cromwell. 2004: Alex
        Proyas. 115 min
Intelligent futuristic thriller based on Isaac Asimov’s novels about an advanced
robot that may have done the unthinkable, and the impossible: murder a human
        being.

Robots of the future, according to acclaimed science fiction writer Isaac Asimov,
would be incapable of harming human beings. His Three Laws of Robotics state
        that:
        1) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human
        being to come to harm
        2) A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders
would conflict with the First Law
        3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not
conflict with the First or Second Law.
These three laws form the foundation of this thought-provoking action thriller,
which sees Will Smith playing Chicago detective Del Spooner, who doesn’t like
or trust robots. When a top robotics scientist is found dead after a long fall from
his office building, suicide is suspected, but Spooner has different ideas: he
thinks a robot may have murdered him. No-one believes him. After all, ALL
robots are programmed with the Three Laws, and there’s no way they can be

Award-winning blockbuster in which mankind is plunged into a desperate battle
for survival when huge spaceships suddenly appear over Earth’s major cities.

This sci-fi actioner was one of the biggest blockbusters of 1996, and no wonder:
trailers showing the White House and the Empire State Building being destroyed
in spectacular fashion were being shown months ahead of the film’s release, and
moviegoers couldn’t wait to see who, or what, would dare to attack America. Of
course, that was before 9/11, when it became tragically evident that some
people were only too ready to attack the mighty USA. Fortunately,
Independence Day is fictional, so sit back and relax while scores of Americans,
including the US president, kick alien butt. But not before aliens kick earth butt
by first scaring them half to death by hovering over their cities in enormous
spacecraft, then attacking them with weapons for which earth’s military forces
have no defence. Is all lost? Not necessarily. Humans have an astonishing
capacity to be resourceful when the chips are down… Winner of an Oscar for
visual effects, a Grammy and an MTV Movie Award for best kiss between Will
        Smith and Vivica Fox.

Sci-Fi Comedy. Nicole Kidman, Bette Midler, Matthew Broderick, Christopher
Walken. 2004: Frank Oz. 90 min

Biting satire about a society in which the women are perfectly subservient,
submissive and sexy, and men have the best of all worlds. Or do they?

This remake of the original 1975 sci-fi thriller has been described as sly,
seductive and subversive, and deservedly so. It revolves around a bright,
liberated TV executive who, after being fired because one of her contestants
went on an unfortunate shooting spree, moves to a village called Stepford with
her husband Walter. There’s something odd about the women who live there:
they are all perfectly groomed, perfectly subservient, and have all mastered the
art of perfect cupcakes. One woman, however, stands out because she’s scruffy,
loud and opinionated. Joanna and Bobbi soon work out what’s going on in
Stepford, but by then, Walter has joined the men’s club, and he’s one of “them”.
And “they” are hardly going to kick up a fuss about Barbie doll wives, are they?

Civil War epic about a young Southern soldier who connects briefly with a
woman before going off to war – a connection which sustains him through the
horrors until their reunion, three years later.

Anthony Minghella (The English Patient) has crafted another breathtaking epic
with this beautifully filmed Civil War saga. It teems with violent and shocking
battle scenes, but at its heart, Cold Mountain is about a passionate,
unconsummated love – conducted mainly by letters which she writes and he
doesn’t get – between Inman and Ada, a young Confederate soldier and a
preacher’s daughter. In the three years he is away, he sees terrible horrors, and

Screen veterans Michael Caine and Robert Duvall shine as two cantankerous old
codgers who take their troubled nephew (Haley Joel Osment of The Sixth Sense

        2003: Paul Morrisson. 106 min.

Heartwarming story about the friendship between a cricket-mad young Jewish
boy and his kindly West Indian neighbour in 1960s London, when racial
        suspicion was at its height.

Bigotry, racism and prejudice are commonly used words today. But back in
London in the early ‘60s, folk didn’t use these words. They said things like,
“They aren’t our kind of people.” But it’s bigotry, racism and prejudice all the
same. This acclaimed film revolves around a cricket-mad Jewish boy whose
immigrant parents are doing their best to fit into the local white neighbourhood.
So when a West Indian family moves in next door, they are at pains not to mix
with them. But young David has no such qualms. Dennis has erected a cricket
net in his back garden, and David can’t keep away. Soon Dennis is teaching the
youngster how to play cricket (the lad is just a scorer at school), and the
neighbours are beginning to make ugly noises. To make matters even more
complicated, David’s timid mother finds herself attracted to the attractive West
        Indian.

disillusioned, but perks up considerably after walking in on up-and-coming

this gritty, dark film about porn star John Holmes, who was implicated in a mass
murder that shocked Hollywood in the 1980s.

John Holmes is a fading porn star with 2 000 blue movies under his belt and an
insatiable drug habit. He’s still married to Sharon, but he’s been involved with
teenager Dawn since she was 15. He needs her, because she makes him feel
like the stud he once was. But he also needs his fix, so he befriends people who
are like him, users and dealers. One night, thugs enter a house in Wonderland
Avenue, Los Angeles, and brutally attack all of the occupants. By the time they
leave, four people are dead, and one woman is permanently brain-damaged.
The police question two men, gangster Eddie Nash, and former porn star John
Holmes, who have two different accounts of what led up to the murders. Who’s
        telling the truth?

pals realise what he means to them when he goes missing. As Eeyore would
        have said, "Oh joy."

upon these things. Meanwhile, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Rabbitt and Roo

Drama. James Caviezel, Monica Bellucci, Maia Morgenstern, Claudia Gerini.

Mel Gibson’s controversial, acclaimed and harrowing retelling of the final 12
hours in the life of Christ. Nominated for three technical Oscars and various
        other awards.

Mel Gibson, a devout Catholic, chose James Caviezel, another believer, to play
Jesus Christ in this harrowing but intensely moving film which has been both
praised and slated around the world – praised for its authenticity (the dialogue,
taken directly from the Gospels, is entirely in Latin and Aramaic) – and slated
because some viewers saw it as anti-Semitic. However, what is not in dispute is
that everyone who saw the film came away feeling something. The Passion of
the Christ follows Jesus as he makes his torturous way from Gethsemane to
Golgotha. We see him interacting with his mother Mary and a few of his
disciples, as well as characters such as Caiphus, Pilate and Herod, before his is
finally scourged and crucified. Brief flashbacks to the Last Supper, the Sermon
on the Mount and Palm Sunday reveal Christ’s loving nature and give respite
from the unrelenting cruelty that unfolds on the screen. The film ends on a note
of hope, as we see the empty tomb, denoting Christ’s resurrection. With English
        subtitles.

A fascinating look at diva Maria Callas, whose career spanned from 1942 to
1964. This film, set in 1977, looks at the diva in her reclusive days, and
wonders what would have happened had she made a comeback.

Paris, 1977. After a brilliant career, diva Maria Callas, now 53, is living as a
recluse in her Paris apartment, alone with her memories and her recordings.
When an old friend, gay filmmaker Larry Kelly, comes calling, asking Callas to
star in his film Carmen, she is outraged, reminding him that her once wonderful
voice is in ruins. But Kelly is adamant. Only her body and her energy need be in
the film, he explains – he will use earlier recordings of her voice. Callas feels it’s
cheating, but Kelly persuades her it’s no more cheating than wearing a wig. And
thus begins the comeback of the great Callas… This comeback, of course, is
fictional, and represents the desires of her many fans, acclaimed director Franco
Zeffirelli included. Starring Fanny Ardant, the acclaimed French actress of 8

True-Life Boxing Drama. Leonard Roberts, Til Schweiger, Peta Wilson, Richard
Roundtree, John Toles-Bey, David Paymer. 2002: Steve James. 100 min.

Engrossing look at the careers, relationships and personal lives of heavyweight
boxers Joe Louis (the Brown Bomber) and German Max Schmeling.

Joe Louis was one of America’s greatest ever heavyweight boxers. However, in
pre-World War II days, the “Brown Bomber” was not popular among Americans,
who tended to root for white boxers. In his first 1936 bout with Max Schmeling,
Germany’s top heavyweight fighter, the crowd cheered for Max, not Joe. Max
won the fight, but a rematch was inevitable, and when the two boxers came
face to face again in 1938, a Nazi-wary crowd cheered Joe on to victory. This
film takes a look at the two boxers, the friendship that sprung up between
them, and the issues they had to deal with in an era where sportsmen were
expected to be role models for their countries. This was especially difficult for
Max, held up by the Nazis as a prime example that the Germans were the
“master race”, when he had Jewish friends and didn’t particularly hold with Nazi
beliefs. This film, which follows the lives of the two boxers from 1937 to 1948,
should appeal to people interested in history and boxing.

True-Life Drama. Kurt Russell, Eddie Cahill, Michael Mantenuto, Patrick O'Brien
Demsey, Nathan West, Patricia Clarkson. 2004: Gavin O'Connor. 134 min.

Sports drama set at the height of the Cold War of how a no-hope ice hockey
team from America beat the powerful Soviet team at the 1980 Winter Olympics.
This movie focuses on the role of the coach, Herb Brooks, and features a 20
minute recreation of the classic game.

Take a trip down memory lane to the late ‘70s when the Cold War was its
chilliest, Jimmy Carter was president of the USA and Americans, thanks to
unemployment, high interest rates and long queues at gas pumps, were losing
faith in the American Dream. If there was a time Americans needed a miracle,
this was it. Enter Herb Brooks, a no-nonsense general – er, ice hockey coach,
who couldn’t care two hoots if his players didn’t like him, as long as they
followed orders, and brought home the gold. His ambition was to take his no-
hope team to the 1980 Winter Olympics and beat the powerful Russians.
Impossible? Perhaps not. This true-life sports drama takes us back to those
months before the Olympics, when a coach (Kurt Russell playing real-life coach
Herb Brooks) assembled, trained and bullied his team into a fighting fit army on
        skates. An inspirational, family-friendly movie.

sexy dance instructor while on holiday. Oscar and Golden Globe for best song.

Patrick Swayze’s Dirty Dancing and Ghost movies will forever be associated with
romance – in fact, these two flicks feature in E!’s 2002 list of Top 10 Dating
Movies of all time. So how does Dirty Dancing look today? Well, with its ‘60s

18:00 Alexander 13VSN Action Adventure
Adventure. Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie, Val Kilmer, Anthony Hopkins 2004:
        Oliver Stone . 175 min

A sweeping look at the life and death of Macedonian conqueror Alexander the
Great, and his relationships with his father, his mother and his lovers of both
        sexes.

Oliver Stone’s historical epic focuses on some of the battles and the personal life
of the ancient world’s greatest general: Alexander the Great. Tutored by
Aristotle, Alexander was 20 when he succeeded his father Philip to the throne,
but he wasn’t just content to rule Greece – he wanted to rule the world. By the
time he was 25, he had conquered most of Europe; at the time of his death,
when he was just 32, in 323 BC, he was presiding over a vast empire stretching
across Central Asia. He was buried in a gold coffin in Alexandria, leaving no
heirs. This film, which is narrated in flashback by Greek scientist Ptolemy
(Anthony Hopkins), takes a look at Alexander’s relationships with his mother
Olympia (a scheming woman who claimed Alexander’s real father was the god
Zeus and who may have had a hand in her husband Philip’s assassination at the
age of 46), his closest friend Hephaistion (and possibly also his lover, but it’s
downplayed in the film), and the Asian queen Roxane he married because he
wanted a son (watch out for a tempestuous wedding night). History buffs will be
pleased to learn that two of Alexander’s greatest battles feature in the film:
        Gaugamala and India.

Drama Thriller. Colin Farrell, Colm Meaney, Kelly Macdonald, Cillian Murphy,

Edgy ensemble drama revolving around a bunch of Dubliners whose entangled
love lives gives a small-time crook an idea to make a quick buck.

Lehiff (Colin Farrell) is a charming small-time Dublin crook who has a love/hate
relationship with detective Jerry, who fancies himself as real-life TV cop so has
his own cameraman following him around. When Lehiff learns that one of his
mates, John, has broken up with his girlfriend Deirdre, and that Deirdre is now
dating a married bank manager, he suggests they kidnap Deirdre and tell the
bank manager to bring them money. But things get complicated when Deirdre’s
man-hating sister and the bank manager’s abandoned wife enter the picture.
And let’s not forget the detective with fame on his mind! This ensemble crime
drama features hand-held camerawork, is violent and funny in turns, and has
been described as something between Trainspotting and Love Actually.

12:00 Triplets Of Belville PG13 Animated
Drama Animated. 2002: Sylvain Chomet. Music: Benoit Chomet. 80 min.

Charming French-made film about a granny who, with the help of her dog and
three batty old dames, sets out to rescue her cycling-mad grandson from evil
        kidnappers. No dialogue.

Imagine a film in which the hero is obsessed with the Tour de France, the
heroines are old and have a thing for frogs’ legs, the family dog has a train
fetish, and no one says a word. Stir in a message about rivalry between the US
and France, soulful jazz and some striking, almost mournful animation, and you
have an arthouse film that is utterly different and utterly charming at the same
time. The story revolves around Madame Souza, an old Parisian woman who is
besotted with her grandson, Champion, a cycling fanatic. Bruno, the family dog,
makes up the third member of this quirky little family. When Champion is
kidnapped during the Tour de France, Madame and Bruno cross the Atlantic to
find the boy. In Belleville, they enlist the help of three ageing vaudeville singers
with unusual culinary skills. An adventure, a satire, a tender love story and a
comedy rolled into one, this is one movie no-one should miss. Oh, and do keep
        a tissue handy!

15:00 Girl With A Pearl Earring PG13S Drama
Drama. Scarlett Johansson, Colin Firth, Tom Wilkinson. 2003: Peter Webber.
        92min

Sensual, understated period drama of a famous painter, Dutch master Johannes
Vermeer, and the girl who was the model for one of his most famous paintings,
        Girl with a pearl earring.

The painting Girl with a pearl earring has always intrigued art lovers. Who was
the subject in Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer's mysterious picture? Not a
lover, surely, as he was married, and his wife was forever falling pregnant.
What's more, his mother-in-law lived in the house, and ruled the household with
an iron fist. A servant girl, perhaps? This is the theory in this compelling 17th
century costume drama in which every shot looks like a painting itself. Scarlett
Johannson plays Griet, a poor girl who goes to work for the Vermeers. The
household consists of Vermeer himself, a moody, dour man who spends most of
his time in his studio, his wife Catharina, their many children, and Catharina's
mother Maria, who makes sure Vermeer keeps on churning out pictures. When
Griet turns out to have a talent for mixing paint, Vermeer moves her into the
attic and closer to his studio, which makes his wife resentful and suspicious.
But although there is clearly an attraction between maid and master, their
relationship remains strictly hands-off. Then Vermeer's debauched patron
commissions a painting of Griet, setting the scene for a jealous outburst that
will jeopardise Griet's job. A mesmerising film of great beauty.

From writer/director Sofia Coppola (The Virgin Suicides) comes this poignant
story about an ageing actor with a midlife crisis and a young woman whose
husband neglects her who connect in Tokyo. One of the best films of 2003.

Bill Murray won a Bafta and a Golden Globe for his utterly convincing portrayal
of Bob, a once great actor on the downside of his career who is grappling with a
sense of failure. While in Tokyo to shoot a whiskey ad for a quick $2 million, he
meets Charlotte, a girl three decades his junior, who has accompanied her

Star-studded spoof of the James Bond flicks featuring a spy, WD-40 aka Dick
Steel, who has to save the world from an armless (not harmless!) villain.

A hundred years ago (actually, back in the ‘80s and ‘90s), the likeable Leslie
Nielsen made several movies in which he played an idiot with a straight face.
Here’s another. No, Spy Hard is not a spoof of Die Hard; it’s a spoof of James
Bond movies, plus a few others (Pulp Fiction, Cliffhanger and Mission:
Impossible, to mention but three) that have no bearing on that oh-so-suave
secret agent 007. Nielsen plays agent WD-40, aka Steel, Dick Steel, who has to
save the world from a villain called General Rancor. Rancor has no arms,
making him armless (harmless, get it?!). Then there’s sexy spy (Nicolette
Sheridan, the femme fatale of Desperate Housewives) to help perk him up when
things get, er, flaccid, and isn’t it good to know that that annoying Home Alone

Adventure. Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale, Richard Roxburgh, David Wenham,
Shuler Hensley, Kevin J O'Connor. 2004: Stephen Sommers. 132 min.

Campy horror adventure about a member of a secret organisation who is sent to
Transylvania to kill Count Dracula, only to find himself grappling with
Frankenstein’s monster and the Wolfman, too.

        Frankenstein’s monster: “Let me go!”
Carl: “Where are you going to go? I don't know if you've looked in the mirror
lately, but you kind of stick out in a crowd.”
This quote gives an inkling of what to expect in this over-the-top adventure
comedy about a superhero who goes looking for The Big Three: Count Dracula,
Frankenstein’s monster and the Wolfman. He also battles Igor, Dr Jekyll (he of
the split personality), zombies, bats and nipple-less witches, but hey, the more
the merrier. This homage to the old Hammer horror movies stars Hugh Jackman
as Gabriel Van Helsing, a superhero with links to the Vatican and a secret
society that hunts vampires. After collecting his orders and his weapons from
Carl (doing a fair imitation of James Bond’s Q), Van Helsing goes chasing after
Dracula, who in turn is chasing after Frankenstein’s monster, who has a certain
knack with electricity. Along the way, Van gets some help from Anna, a dishy
vampire slayer, who has her own reasons for finding the Count. Many
adventures and witty conversations ensue. Not particularly scary, but then,
when were The Big Three ever really scary?!

Gothic adventure about a centuries-old feud between vampires and werewolves,
and what happens when a beautiful vampire warrior and a werewolf fall in love.

In the underbelly of an unnamed Gothic metropolis, two mythological races -
the elegant, aristocratic vampires and the savage, unkempt lycans (also known
as werewolves) - have been battling one another for centuries. Quite what
started this bitter feud no-one knows, except that Selene, a beautiful vampire
warrior, has always believed that her unlife's purpose was to wipe out lycans.
When she stumbles upon a conspiracy involving the leaders of both races, she
awakens a vampire noble out of his slumber to help her uncover the truth.
Along the way, she does the forbidden: she falls in love with Michael, a
werewolf, which ignites the bitter feud between the two races into an all-out
        war.

A college freshman returns to L.A. for the holidays at his ex-girlfriend's request,
but discovers that his former best friend has an out-of-control drug habit.

Clay, an eighteen-year-old freshman, comes back from his first term at a
college in New Hampshire to spend his Christmas vacation with his broken-up
wealthy family in Los Angeles. His former girlfriend, Blair, is now involved with
his ex-best-friend, Julian. She warns Clay that Julian needs help: he is using a
lot of cocaine and has huge debts. What follows is a look at the youth culture of
wealthy post adolescents in Beverly Hills with a strong anti-drug message. Apart
from the setting and the names, the film has very little to do with Bret Easton
Ellis's book by the same title on which it was based.

Taye Diggs, the star of Drum and Kevin Hil, in the movie that first got him
noticed. He plays a charming Jamaican toyboy romancing an attractive woman
        twice his age.

This warm, upbeat movie can either be interpreted as every older woman’s
fantasy, that is, finding a sexy, sensitive, charming toyboy, or an enchanting
love story about two people who connect on many levels. We prefer to see it as
the latter, as this movie is based on the actual experiences of Terry McMillan,
the woman who wrote the book upon which this movie is based. In a nutshell:
Stella, a 40-year-old stockbroker (Angela Bassett looking terrifically toned),
goes to Jamaica for a well-deserved holiday with her best friend (Whoopi
Goldberg), where she has a holiday romance with a sexy Jamaican (Taye Diggs)
half her age. But lust soon turns to love, and now she must decide what to do

Stand-up comedian Will Ferrell, who co-wrote this film, pokes fun at the male
chauvinism that ruled American newsrooms in the 1970s. The film, set in San
Diego’s male-dominated Channel 4 newsroom, revolves around Ron Burgundy, a

gargantuan ego. He has no clue that he’s a male chauvinist, until the beautiful,
bright and ambitious Veronica Corningstone joins the team. While she does light
