Objectives for the activity: Students will be able to…
    Identify airport vocabulary words.
 Interpret dialogue about a trip to the airport.

Directions for the practice activity:
1. Dress up in a “tacky tourist” outfit. Put on anything and everything to gain your students attention.
2. Enter the classroom and start introducing your character in Spanish.
3. Use props and powerpoint visuals to carry out your skit. Emphasize the vocabulary words or phrases you
want them to learn by repeating them twice and gesturing. Here is an example of a skit dialogue:

“Hola, me llamo María. Estoy muy entusiasmada porque voy a viajar a México. Primero, necesito
empacar la maleta. Entonces, puedo ir al aeropuerto. Necesito encontrar el mostrador de línea
aérea. Aquí, yo recibo mi tarjeta de embarque. Luego, paso por la seguridad. Entonces, busco la
puerta de salida. Finalmente, abordo el avión.”

4. Next, ask for a student volunteer to act out the skit while you read the script. Additionally, ask the rest of
the class to repeat the key vocabulary words after you.
5. Allow one or two additional students to act out the script while the class repeats key vocabulary words until
the words are comprehended or you start to loose engagement.
