					Caring for Your Breast Implants

If you have breast implants, it is very important for you to learn how to
care for them properly. Enhancements have become a very popular solution
for women who find themselves wanting a body that is curvy and more
shapely. Besides wanting to improve their appearance, this procedure
gives women a way to improve their self esteem and increase their
confidence. Although there are many different reasons why women resort to
getting breast implants, it is pretty obvious that they are very
concerned and conscious about their body and appearance. In order to get
and maintain the best results after surgery, it is imperative that proper
care is taken.

Breast implants are used in a wide range of cosmetic surgery
enhancements. They are used to increase the size of a woman's bosom.
There are several different methods in which enlargement can be done.
Ultimately, it is up to the surgeon who is performing the procedure which
method to use. Factors that are taken into consideration to determine
which method will give the best results are physical build, genetics,
previous surgeries, cosmetic concerns or the need to reconstruct the
chest due to injury or a mastectomy. Although there are two types of
breast implants, which are saline and silicone, there are several
different kinds of silicone that can be used. They are single fixed
volume lumen, double fixed volume lumen and double lumen inflatable and
they all can be used to increase the size of the bust and give it a
natural appearance.

It is important to care for breast implants because complications can
develop at any time after surgery. Some women tend to notice immediate
issues, while others may not notice any changes right away since the
changes can take time to accumulate. Conditions such as loss of sensation
in the chest, development of scar tissue and changes in the size and
shape of the breasts during periods of weight gain. Care is also required
to minimize the risk of rupture and leakage. To reduce these risks, avoid
adding pressure on the chest. Maintain proper hygiene and perform monthly
exams to check for any changes. Any medication that is prescribed post
surgery should be taken as directed to prevent side effects and other
infections.

Sometimes, after surgery, the implants can shift and cause a temporary
loss of feeling in the chest. It is important to notify your doctor if
you notice any weird or lack of sensation. This is why it is essential
that you check them on a regular basis to ensure that they have not
shifted. Their position can be checked during a breast exam. You also
need to keep up with appointments so your doctor can check the condition
of your bosom as well. Don't assume that once surgery is over and you are
completely healed that your relationship with the surgeon is over. Your
surgeon will instruct you on how to properly care for your bosom and
teach you some massage techniques that will soften your chest and make it
more realistic feeling.
