      (History)
                                               U TAPAO Establishment
• A.D. 1961 Royal Thai Navy found and approved the budget to built
  the airport nearly U-Tapao village, Rayong Province.
• A.D. 1965 U.S. government negotiated with Thai government asked for
 made an approaches to usable U-TAPAO airport has been used for base of
 U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress bombers during Vietnam War.
• A.D. 1966 Established the airport, parking stand & apron / consigned to
 Royal Thai Navy & accompany together.
• A.D. 1976 U.S. draw off the army / assigned as an alternative airport of
 Don-Mueang Airport.
• A.D. 1989 U-Tapao International Airport has been performed under the
 administrative committees the authority of Royal Thai Navy approved by
 the cabinet’ s resolution. The cabinet allowed Royal Thai Navy to govern
 U-Tapao International Airport associated with Department of Aviation with
 the government policy in promoting economic and social affair and
 durability of Eastern seashore of Thailand.
A.D. 1961 – started the construction by Royal Thai Navy.
A.D. 1965 – continued the construction by U.S. Army.
A.D. 1966 – Finished
A.D. 1976 – U.S. draw off the army.
A.D. 1976 – assigned as an alternative airport of Don-Mueang Airport.
A.D. 1976 – has been announced as commercial airport.
A.D. 1982 – finished the airport terminal building.
    A.D. 1989 – The cabinet allowed Royal Thai Navy to govern
U-Tapao International Airport associated with Department of Aviation
with the government policy in promoting economic and social affair
          and durability of Eastern seashore of Thailand.

  Airport. Royal Thai Navy aims to associate with government sectors

  in administrating and developing U-Tapao International Airport to be

more competitive in terms of supporting the increase of aviation business

 in order to accord with the government policy in promoting economic,

        social affair and durability of eastern seashore of Thailand

  U-Tapao International Airport aims to set up the organization
    for the purpose of controlling private sectors who engage
 in business and services in U-Tapao International Airport to be
   in accordance with law, act and regulation and the policy of
the committees under the rules of Royal Thai Navy’s organization.

The duties of Administrative division of U-Tapao International
Airport are mainly in charge of controlling and taking the
responsibilities to be in line with chief’s policy as followings:

The charge of Airport Services Division are generally concerned
with passenger services as followings:

                                    Air Operation Control Division
       The main responsibilities of Air Operation Control Division are
providing convenience, security and order in air traffic to military as well as
  civilian aircrafts and another concern of Air Operation Control Division
takes charge of aviation communication equipments and other aircraft tools
for facilities and efficiency of aviation which include the cooperation rescue
   of areas in account and naval aviation operation assistance in case of
                  lacking air operation control department

       The main charges of Maintenance Division are
 concerned over keeping landing strip in a good condition,
repairing building and public utility and zone in responsibility

and those who come to use U-Tapao International Airport services
 in accordance with the nation security regulation issued in 1974

After crisis at Bangkok, UTP Administrative committees
      approved for UTP airport progressive plan.
                     Airport Development

In the end of 2008, UTP did briefly fly passengers out of Thailand during the
 political unrest that forced the closure of Bangkok’s two primary airports
                 “Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi Airport”
   Then, Thai government approved a big budget to develop UTP to be
the main airport to support industries in Eastern Seaboard Area and tourism
             in Pattaya, Rayong, Chantaburi and Trad Province.

Implementation of the strategy, U-Tapao Authority will

(A.D. 2008-2011) And strengthening national security are:

Airport services objective of U-Tapao International Airport is:
1. Developing U-TAPAO International Airport to be a modern

  International Civil Aviation Organization. (ICAO)

  tourism income.
3. Developing airport systems and equipments for more
  effectively services.
4. Developing security system and protecting all accident and
  disaster.
5. Developing the personal abilities and administrative system.

         On 2010 – 2011 of U-Tapao airport progressive plan

is setting up the budget total around 995.6 millions baht as following:
1. New Terminal on budget 600 millions baht.
2. Expanding apron size 200 x 200 meters.
       in front of the new terminal.
3. Purchase for X-RAY Machine for the new terminal.
4. Improve refueling system 1 unit.

                 “U Tapao – Pattaya International Airport”
  According to the new terminal with more marketing and public relation
 to attractive the airlines and the aviation services company to use at UTP.
   Now, it's given a new name "U-Tapao - Pattaya International Airport.
   As anyone well known “Pattaya, Phuket and Chieng Mai” where is the
important of travel place in Thailand. This is the reasons for the new name,
        aims to increase the business and tourism income in 2011
