                                Activities

1.   Design your own airplane. Color it and then tell where you
     would want to go.

2.   Make an award for the pilot. Be sure to congratulate him
     on a journey well done.

3.   Pretend you have interviewed the pilot. (Coach be the
     pilot.) Write a paragraph about his journey.

                               Introductions

1.   Bring in an airplane and ask students what airplanes do.
     Where do they go? Let’s read our story today and see what
     the airplane in the book is going to do.

2.   Ask the students if they have ever flown on an airplane.
     Did they like it? Or would they like to fly on an airplane?
     We will read about airplanes today. Let’s read and find out
     some interesting facts about them.

3.   Show the student pictures of all types of airplanes. Ask
     them if they have ever flown on an airplane. What was
     their experience like? If you have flown on an airplane,
     share that experience with them. We will read about
     airplanes today. Let’s read and find out some interesting
     facts about them.
