                                     Art Metals: Metalsmithing Specialization
                                       Associate of Applied Science Degree
       With this degree, the student will receive traditional training in the arts, with a focus on the skills
       required of a metalsmith, as well as experience and theory in welding technology and industrial
         applications. A graduate with this interdisciplinary degree can gain access to an established
                           employment market and a practical means of livelihood.

    Select from the appropriate section of the General Education Course List.

    Select one from any welding or jewelry class. Students are encouraged to take WLDG 1457 as their Restricted
Elective. This course leads into WLDG 2474 (Welder Qualification) which is a non-required supplement to the
degree track.
  In addition to tuition and fees students taking classes in the welding labs will be charged a $3.50
insurance fee per semester. Students are also expected to provide their own protective clothing and
        certain equipment. The supply list varies by course (see www.austincc.edu/welding).

The cost per credit hour is determined by the address on file in the student's permanent record and
                     residency status as defined by the Texas Education Code.

 Courses repeated for the third or more time - a charge of $60 per credit hour will be added to the
                                  tuition charged for that course.
