Target Audience
This program has been designed for cardiologists, internists, CT surgeons, clinical and basic scientists in medicine, biology, genetics,
biomedical engineering, pharmacology, physiology and other specialties; PhDs and PhD candidates, cardiology and CT surgery
fellows, medicine and surgery housestaff, cardiac nursing and cardiology clinical and technical support staff.

Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
        Describe the latest treatment modalities for cardiac conditions (e.g. interventional procedures such as cardiac catheterization,
       cardiac biopsies, electrophysiologic studies), noninvasive cardiac procedures and clinical cardiology therapy
        Review experimental data from the basic cardiology research labs at UPHS
        Assess the results of clinical trials from a regional and national view
        Assess patient care through discussing medical errors, complications and unanticipated outcomes
        Gain practice-based learning and improvement through reviewing records, specifics and revisiting errors to gain insight
       without blame or derision
        Recognize the importance of systems-based practice that explicitly depict the larger context and system of health care by
       stressing the importance of collaborative efforts involving physicians and ancillary staff for safety and quality improvements

(ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation of Credit
The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1
