An easement is a right in the land of another. The right is often described as the right to use the land of another for a special purpose. An easement gives one party the right to go onto another party's property. An easement is a real property interest, but separate from the legal title of the owner of the underlying land. In this form, the owner of an easement terminates his ownership of the easement in favor of the owner of the real property on which the easement was located. This form is a generic example that may be referred to when preparing such a form for your particular state.
Termination of Easement by a General Release Release given (date), by (Name of Releasor) of (street address, city, county, state, zip code), hereinafter called hereinafter called the Releasor to (Name of Releasee) (street address, city, county, state, zip code), hereinafter called the Releasee. Whereas, on (date), Releasee granted to Releasor an easement for (describe nature and scope of easement), across real property in the (county), (state), more particularly described in Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof.
