                               Storytime: All Aboard

INTRODUCTION: Welcome to Story Time! We encourage caregivers to participate
with the children during the program. Each week we will focus on one of the six Early
Literacy Skills that are necessary for children to acquire before they learn to read.
Please take this sheet home and during the coming week discuss the story time theme,
read together, and perform the songs and fingerplays with your child to reinforce this
week’s skill, Print Motivation.

SONG: “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad”

I've been working on the railroad
All the live long day.
I've been working on the railroad
just to pass the time away.
Can't you hear the whistle blowing
Rise up so early in the morn
Don't you hear the captain shouting
Dinah blow your horn.

Dinah won't you blow,
Dinah won't you blow,
Dinah won't you blow your horn?
Dinah blow your horn.
Dinah won't you blow,
Dinah won't you blow,
Dinah won't you blow your horn?
