Introduction for 2010
Dear LFC member,
Welcome back to another season with Lindfield
Football Club. This guide aims to give you an
overview of what has changed and what to
expect in 2010. We hope this will help everyone,
especially managers and coaches, to understand
their role and enjoy their time in these rewarding
and important positions.
Important Dates Part 1
The LFC events calendar can be found on the right hand side of the
LFC website. Below are some important dates.
Online registration is possible from the end of January 2010. On the
LFC website please go to ‘Players & Registration’ – ‘Registration’ –
‘Online Registration’
Registration Day is on Sat. 06.02.10 at WLSRC (West Lindfield
Sports and Rec Club), 8am -3pm.
U6s and U7s orientation session on the Mon 15.02.10 at WLSRC,
7.30 – 8.30pm. A Must for new parents.
Coaches and Managers meeting with AGM will be held on Monday
15.03.10 at WLSRC
Grading dates and venues are listed on the events calendar but are
subject to ground availability. Please check one week prior to the
event!
After grading but prior to the start of the season trial games will be
organized. Normally held on Sundays, timing and venue will be
communicated via the website and email.
Important Dates Part 2
Super Skills for boys AND girls start on Friday 19.03.10.
Registration is necessary and costs $10 dollars for 6 sessions.
Registration forms and more info will be posted on the LFC website.
1st games of the season commence on the weekend 10.04.10 (for All
age Men) and 10.04.10 (for All age women).
For the draw please refer to the KDSA website www.kdsa.asn.au
1st games Junior mixed and SSG games on the weekend 17.04.10 –
18.04.10.
No Junior mixed and SSG games on the weekend 10.07.10 –
11.07.10.
LFC Photo Day at WLSRC. Dates to be advised!
Gala Day (=‘End of season’) will be held on the weekend 28.08.10
and 29.08.10.
Important changes and news
In 2010 we emphasize on offering Grassroots Courses, Coach the
Coaches Sessions and Junior Licence Courses. Please check the
calendar for dates!
U6s and U7s Orientation Session will be held before grading on the
15.02.10 (= special introduction for new parents to the club, rules,
comp , BBQ roster at Regimental Oval etc.).
Playing with friends. Please refer on the LFC website to ‘Club’ –
‘Club Policies’ – ‘Playing with friends’.
Grading procedure. Grading is compulsory and club policy!
Please refer on the LFC website to ‘Club’ – ‘Club Policies’ –
‘Grading and Selection’.

Please adhere to the communication hierarchy
Parents/player → Team manager → Age coordinator
Being a Team Manager and
Team Coach
LFC Coaches and Managers meeting will be held on 15.03.10 at
WLSRC. Must attend event!
In 2009 LFC incurred $4000 dollars worth of fines as a result of
incorrect or late delivered match cards.
→ Please go to the LFC website and there to ‘Managers & Coaches’ –
‘Manager or Coaches’ – ‘Match card procedure’. Read and follow
instructions.
Match cards will be delivered with the team kit bag.
A rough guide for managers and coaches duties is to be found on the
LFC website under ‘Managers & Coaches’.
Managers have special access to the LFC website. Please advise the
club by email that you are the manager of a team. The club will send
you a password which enables you access to your team database (e.g.
email addresses and phone numbers).
All team managers email addresses will be published on the LFC
website under ‘Contacts’ unless you advise us to withhold
publication.
Being a Team Coach
LFC has a coaching philosophy which is to be found and read
under ‘Manager & Coaches’ – ‘Coaches’ – ‘LFC Coaching
Philosophy’. Our philosophy should give you a guideline on
how to approach your coaching with LFC.
To help you to develop your coaching skills ‘Coach the
coaches’ session are free and will be held on 23.03.10,
27.04.10, 25.05.10 and 22.06.10 (tbc)
A Grassroots course will be held on 30.03.10 (free of charge)
A Junior Licence course will be held on 01.05.10 & 02.05.10
LFC emphasises to:
- keep the ball on the ground and work on ball skills!
Training grounds and ground
closure guide
Please refer to the LFC scroll down menu ‘Matches &
Training’ – ‘Training Allocations’.
The team manager or coach must request a training time
by email to info@lfc.asn.au
Grounds for training will be available after cricket season
Ground closures will be communicated via the LFC
website ‘Weather Status’ on the right hand side of the
LFC website. Updated by 2pm at the latest during the
week.
A ground closure guide is to be found on the LFC
website ‘Matches & Training’ – ‘Ground Closure Guide’.
Equipment
Equipment team bags will be given out before the start of
the season or trial games. These include playing jerseys,
1 match and 3 training balls, 1st aid kit, cones, match
cards, bibs and a whistle etc.
→All these items have to be returned at the end of the
season
Every active LFC member has to purchase LFC shorts
and white socks. Available to be purchased from the
WLSRC on registration day or special opening hours
(dates tba, please check the website).
Our clubhouse – West Lindfield
Sports and Rec Club
LFC is the only Football Club in the
KDSA district with a proper clubhouse. It
is located in Lindfield, 76 A Highfield
Road.
Enjoy the bar, table tennis, BBQ and big
screen (Setanta Sports).
For opening hours please refer to the LFC
website (every Saturday and Sunday after the all age games).
