What Will I Learn From This Class?

1. Terminal Learning Objective. With a warning order requiring
a base camp(s), map(s), reconnaissance report(s), camp layout(s)
with water source and distribution points indicated, any
environmental impact report(s), known soil type(s) and
references, plan field hygiene equipment support so requirements
of warning order are supported; with hygiene equipment site(s)
drawn on the camp layout(s) and a Course of Action (COA)
established; and input provided for Annex D and Appendix 6 to
Annex Q of the Operation Order. (1169-XENG-2555)

2. Enabling Learning Objectives.

    a. With a list of hygiene equipment, a list of capabilities
and references, match the hygiene equipment to their
capabilities per TM 11275-15/3D and the equipment manuals.
(1169-XENG-2555a)

    b. With a list of hygiene equipment, a list of
characteristics and references match the hygiene equipment to
their characteristics per TM 11275-15/3D and the equipment
manuals. (1169-XENG-2555b)

                         Let's Get Started!

                                  SO 1
1. CONTAINERIZED BATCH LAUNDRY. The Containerized Batch
Laundry system (CBL) will be replacing the obsolete Bare Base
laundry Unit and is fully adjustable for time, temperature, and
speed. The CBL will also be providing the ability to launder
Gortex laminated fabrics, such as the ones currently issued.
The CBL is configured to fit into a standard ISO container with
several modifications.

    a. Capabilities. The CBL comes equipped with (2) 55 pound
commercial washers, (2) 75 pound commercial dryers, and an M-80
water heater.

    b. Characteristics. The CBL requires a 100kW generator
(MEP 7).

        (1) World wide logistical support from the Defense
Logistic Agency (DLA).

          (2) Adjustable temperature controls.

          (3) Containerized in an ISO Container that Measures.

              (a) External Dimensions.

     Length – 20 feet Width – 8 feet Height – 8 feet

              (b) Internal Dimensions.

     Length – 19’4” Width – 7’6” Height – 7’3 3/8”

              (c) Weight Unmodified Cargo Container. 5,550 lbs.

              (d) Weight Modified as CBL and Packed. 11,600 lbs.

        (4) Operating Temperature Range. 32º-120º Fahrenheit or
0º-49º Celsius.

          (5) Maximum Operating Elevation. 7,000 feet or 2,114
meters.

2. BARE BASE SHOWER UNIT.

    a. Capabilities. In full operation, one shower unit is
capable of processing 200 personnel per hour. This is based on
each shower lasting for 2.5 minutes with a 1-minute changeover
time. This leaves approximately 17 changeovers per hour.

                                SO 2
    b. Characteristics. The Bare Base Shower Unit requires a
separate power source capable of delivering 60Hz, 3 phase, and
208VAC power. One shower unit requires 2.8kW of power. The
supply and drainage pump are both rated at 18-20 GPM.

        (1) Six fiberglass base assemblies each having a 2
person stall, showering up to 12 people at one time.

        (2) Six aluminum shower frame assemblies with 2 attached
showerheads. Each showerhead is rated at 1.5 GPM.

       (3) 36 aluminum support poles for shower frames.

       (4) Vinyl covering and doors to enclose the shower area.

        (5) Wiring Harnesses provided with the Shower Unit
consist of a 50ft "T" power cable with three connectors and 10ft
extension with a pigtail.

        (6) The Shower Unit has supply hoses that are 1 inch in
diameter and drainage hoses that are 2 inch in diameter.

        (7) The pump assembly is equipped with two electrically
powered pumps. A water supply pump and a drainage pump. Both
pumps are rated at 18-20 GPM. The weight is approximately 280
lbs.

        (8) M-80 Water Heater provides hot water. The heater is
electrically/fuel fired and consumes 5 gallons of diesel per
hour. The weight of the water heater is 480 lbs.

        (9) The dimensions for base are, length 72.3 inches,
width 43.16 in., height 85.93 in., and weight 100 lbs. The
weight for each base includes shower frame, poles, and the vinyl
cover.
