When considering a cabin purchase, you should look at it as a medium- to long-term investment (7 - 10 years). Once you have purchased and prepared your cabin and put it on the rental market, the results will show quickly. However, return visitors and word-ofmouth recommendations, which are prime sources of increased rental income, take a couple of years to show full effect. Also, the appreciation in the value of your cabin will be optimized with this length of ownership or longer.
