Sprint Barn TO BE REBUILT

familiar sight across the driveway from the main school building. Known as the Sprint Barn since its use in the
1970s by the indoor track team, the building was one of two large stables on the horse farm that CBA acquired
when the school was founded in 1959. (The other was remodeled to become CBA’s first classroom building, and
now known as Henderson Hall, remains in use as classroom space today.)
Used in recent years for equipment storage, maintenance offices and shop, and campus utilities, the Sprint
Barn had begun to show its age, and was increasingly expensive to maintain. The new barn being constructed
on the same “footprint” will be a faithful replica of the old one, but its interior will provide open, flexible-use
storage and utility space in place of the old rows of brick and wood horse stalls. ■
