INTRODUCTION :

    Photovoltaic cells, commonly known as solar
    cells, are semiconductor devices that convert
    sunlight directly into electricity.
   Efficiency range from a few percent to above 40%.
 Low maintenance, long lasting sources of energy
 Provides cost-effective power supplies for people
  remote from the main electricity grid.
 Non-polluting and silent sources of electricity.
 Renewable and sustainable power, as a means to
  reduce global warming.

The four general types of silicon photovoltaic
 cells are:

1.   Single-crystal silicon.
2.   Polycrystalline silicon.
3.   Ribbon silicon.
4.   Amorphous silicon.
