					                 Creating a Board Game with Excel
Part I
   1. Create a new worksheet
   2. Click the on the blank between Column A and Row 1
   3. Turn the cells into squares.
   4. Right Click. Format Cells. Go the boarder tab. Click outline and inside. Change
      the color of the lines.
   5. Click on the Font tab. Change the Font size to 20.
   6. Click on the Alignment tab. Choose Center in both Text Alignment boxes. Click
      on OK.

   FORMATTING THE CELLS

   1. Select cells A2-A5
   2. Right click and choose Format cells
   3. Click the alignment tab. Drag the orange diamond in the Text Orientation box
      until it is at the top of the arc. This will make the text vertical. Click on Merge
      Cells.
   4. Click the Boarder Tab
   5. Click on Outline.
   6. Type “Start” and press Enter.
   7. Select cells B3-B4. Right click and choose Format cells.
   8. Click the alignment tab. Click Merge cells.
   9. Click the Boarder tab. Click Outline and then click on OK.

   USING AUTOFILL

   1.    Click on the newly merged cell.
   2.    Click the Fill Color button
   3.    Type 1
   4.    Click the cell. Drag the dot in the lower right hand corner to cell E4.
   5.    Click cell E3 (the cell with the number 4 in it). Drag the dot down to E10.
   6.    Click cell E10. Drag the dot down to L10.
   7.    Click the cell L10. Drag the dot down to cell L16.

   COPY AND PASTE CELLS

   1.    Click cell L16
   2.    Click on the Copy button
   3.    Click cell C15 and click the Paste button.
   4.    By counting, you can determine that this would be number 26. Type in, 26
   AUTOFILL TO FINISH

   1.    Click the cell (C15) and drag the dot to cell D15. Change the number to 25.
   2.    Select both cells. Autofill to the right to cell K15.
   3.    Copy the “Start” cell and paste it in cell B14. Type “Finish”
   4.    Change the fill color of the Start and Finish cells.

Save As: game your name
Save in Your Folder
Have Ms. Singh check your work

Use ClipArt to Design Game Pieces for Your Game

Save As: game your name
Save in Your Folder
