The altar cross in the chapel is another example of Jack Reynolds and Jim Short’s skills as wood carvers. The figure of Christ was carved by Jim Short and the cross was carved by Jack Reynolds. The cross is empty and before it is the Risen Christ, an Easter symbol of new life for all who believe in the miracle of Christ’s triumphant victory over death. The cross was donated in 1977 by the parents of Sally Stanfield Mullins. Sally was a young parishioner who had died the previous year due to developing pneumonia following childbirth. At the same time her parents also donated the brass candelabras used on the high altar in the main church in her memory. The Clergy The Rev. E. Clifton Gardner ............ Rector The Rev.
