DIAMOND SA
Fibre optics allows information to be transmitted over great distances without interruption or error. Data transmission by fibre optics is extremely efficient and super fast. Fibre optics make it possible to reach levels of performance, and traffic volumes, far beyond what conventional copper wire systems can hope to achieve. However, perfect connections are crucial to both transmission efficiency and the overall reliability of any fibre optic system. In fibre optics, absolute precision is imperative. Diamond began modestly in the Swiss town of Locarno in 1958, machining ultra-hard materials for industry and later becoming a supplier for industrial gems, turntable styli and other high-precision components for the industries. The experience and knowledge gained from these fields of activity provided the basis for the precision machining and mass production of fibre optics. Having been in the fibre optic business for more than a quarter of a century, Diamond has amassed a vast store of knowledge and practical experience in the design, development and manufacture of high-precision fibre optic components and the techniques required for fibre cleaving, splicing and polishing. That same knowledge and experience has firmly established Diamond in a leading position on the global market.
FTTX PRODUCTS FROM DIAMOND – SOLUTIONS FOR THE FUTURE
Today, a vast and ever-increasing number of households enjoy access to broadband television and internet. The sheer volume of data communications on any day already exceeds the total number of words printed in all the books of all the libraries on earth! Fibre optic technology plays a major role in the infrastructure that has to handle this immense volume. From simple telephone connections and local, metropolitan and national networks, to high-definition television, fibre optic backbones carry data and information across the street, between cities and around the globe. Local Area Networks and even triple-play connections for domestic use require increasingly fast bit rates. While copper networks are still dominant in these fields today, they are near or at their maximum capacity, and there is no doubt that they will have to be replaced by fibre optic technology in the near future. For companies who choose fibre optics for their FTTx applications, Diamond offers a full range of practical and reliable components such as racks, patch panels, switches, media converters, break-out and fan-out cables, fibre optic pigtails, patch cords, and much more. Diamond’s product range is constantly being expanded - the newest FTTH assets are:

4 FIELD ASSEMBLY
The new ZEUS D50 Fusion splicing system provides fast, easy, and high performance field assembly of fibre optic connectors utilizing 1.25mm and 2.5mm ferrules on both single-mode and multi-mode fibres (250, 600 and 900 μm) and 1.6-to 3.1 mm cable. The centrepiece of this system is Diamond's advanced "Crocodile Alberino" fusion ferrule assembly.
3 FLEXIBLE INSTALLATION
4 MODULAR DESIGN
The Diamond flexModule is a connector/splice module suitable for installation directly onto a 35 mm DIN rail in various wall boxes and cabinets. This allows for easy and fast module expansion at any time. The fully protected and stored pigtails in the splice-module can be utilized as a cross-connect panel, enabling an easy splice procedure without disturbing the pigtail fibre reserve. The Module consists of a base plate, support for adapters and pigtails and one splice tray.
The Diamond flexBox Vario wall distributor is equipped with DIN rails for simple and easy installation of active and passive components. Depending on the requirements it is possible to install the flexos splice and/or connector module as well as the fibre optic/copper industrial switches next to each other on the DIN rails.

1. BROADBAND CONNECTION IN THE LIVING ROOM VARIANT 1A FIELD CONNECTOR TERMINATIONS
The new F-3000™ LC FUSION allows quick and simple field installation while maintaining the high quality standards of the Diamond F-3000™ standard connectors. The key component here is the sophisticated, field installable “Crocodile Alberino” 1.25mm ferrule component. No splice tray required The cable lengths do not need to be defined in advance
VARIANT 1B SPLICING USING PIGTAILS
With the FTTH flush-mount socket you can bring fibre optics all the way into the home. All communications (data, voice, TV, etc.) are then implemented via fibre optics. The Diamond FTTH flush-mount socket enables you to easily splice up to four pigtails with G.657.A fibre. The F-3000™ adapters and connectors with laser and dust protection cap are compatible with the LC (IEC 61754-20/EDI) standard.
VARIANT 1C PRE-TERMINATED ON ONE SIDE
The unique FTTH Box comprises an FTTH socket with mounted connector and cable. The cable reel in the box allows the cable to be unwound easily, and makes it easier to pull the cable back from within the dwelling to the house connection point or to the cable risers. No cost for installation effort the dwelling Standard lengths enables stockage
2. FAST CONNECTION IN THE RISER ZONE
The patented “Crocodile Splice Unit” from Diamond enables a simple and quick connection from the vertical cable to the fibre optic installation cable of the dwelling. Repairs and cable extensions can be carried out simply in situ. The new “Crocodile Splice Unit” is a further development of the well-known Crocodile Fusion Alberino and can be used in combination with the new ZEUS D50 Fusion Field Termination (plus expansion tooling), and installed reliably in the field.
