					                          St Botolph’s Newsletter
                                             Date: May 2012

Dear Parent/Carer

Just a quick catch up to let you know what is happening at St Botolph’s. As you already know this term worships
will be based on the Christian value of Endurance and our SEAL theme this term is ‘Going for Goals’.

Mrs Elsom, who joined us after Easter has settled in to teaching Year 5; she has already made a great start.

                                     Baby boom hits St Botolph’s

Congratulations to Mr Hickerton and his wife who are expecting their first baby in October and
Mr Lee and his wife who are expecting their second child in November. There is definitely something in the water
here at St Botolph’s as Mrs Eastwood is also expecting her second baby in November (Mrs Hall will be covering her
maternity leave). Mrs Woolley is also expecting her third child in October and so she will be leaving us in July to be
with her family. We are in the middle of a baby boom here and we are all very excited for all of them. I might
need to open a Nursery! I spoke o Mrs Hedley this week, she has settled down in Fife nicely and she too is
expecting her first child in November. I am sure you will join me in saying congratulations to them all.

I hope you have found the new notice board informative. We are now taking steps to enhance our website, with a
vision of launching a new one in the near future.

PE Kit - indoor and outdoor. Please could you make sure that your child has the appropriate kit for all PE sessions?

Lost Property -we have a great deal of lost property in school including shoes, hats, jumpers, coats and PE kits.
There are also many items of non-uniform. If you feel that your child may have lost any item in school please
could you come into school and have a look? We would like to return as much as we can to families but anything
that is left at the end of term will be disposed of. At the end of term please could your child also remember to
collect all of their belongings, including their PE kit from either the classroom or the changing rooms?

A massive thank you to all the children for being sensible and having a great attitude
towards their SATs this week. Years 2 and 6 are taking their official SATs. Year 3, 4 and 5 are taking their optional
SATs. We are so proud of them for remaining focused at this time in the year.
Just a reminder that if you would like your child to have a Jubilee lunch on 31 May, there is still time to order.
The cost is £2.20. Please have your order in by 21 May though, to give us time to order the food.

Sports News: Congratulations to our rugby team who won the Sleaford and District Rugby Cup. We now go to the
county finals next week. We wish them all the best of luck and thank them for their team spirit and dedication.
Also a massive thank you to the parents for supporting us too, it is appreciated.

Thank you so much for filling in the parent questionnaires, there has been some great comments and some
constructive ones too. It is always great to get positive feedback from the parents. It is much appreciated.

Many thanks for your continued support; it is valued and extremely important. If you have any concerns, please
do not hesitate to contact the class teacher or to make an appointment with the office to see me. We will always
make time to listen to you.

Mrs D Wilson
