                              SPECIAL RULES APPLY TO THIS DEPARTMENT

1.  Open to any amateur homebrewer, 21 years or older, who is a resident of New York State.
2.  Entry forms and fees must be completed and received by the NYS Fair Entry Department by May 30, 2011.
3.  Entry fee is $6.00 per entry.
4.  Beer must be received by 4:00 p.m. on June 2, 2011.
5.  An entry consists of two bottles of the same beer. Attach a label from the entry form on each entered bottle
    with a rubber band. Bottles with glued or taped labels WILL NOT BE JUDGED. Bottles of 12 oz. or
    greater may be entered. Carbonators, swingtop, etc. will be allowed.
6. To enter: Complete and sign the entry form. Mail two copies along with the entry fee to the NYS Fair Entry
    Department, 581 State Fair Blvd., Syracuse, NY 13209 by May 30. Make check payable to the NYS Fair.
    Present one copy of the entry form and the beer at one of the designated drop off points OR you may ship your
    entries and one copy of form to: NYS Fair Home Brew Competition, 581 State Fair Blvd., Syracuse, NY

    form, please print three (3) copies. One is to be shipped with the beer, the other two are to be sent to the NYS
    Fair with entry fees. Beer entries shipped to the Fair must be sent separate from the fee or the entries
    WILL NOT BE JUDGED.
7. Judging will be held on June 10 and 11, 2011.
8. Each exhibitor will receive one (1) complimentary admission pass to the Fair. Good August 25 – September 5,
    2011.
9. All entries become the property of the NYS Fair.
10. All entries are under the control of and subject to the order of the Committee and may not be removed or
    withdrawn without the committee’s permission. Judges/organizers will not recategorize entries for
    classification.
11. The Management assumes no responsibility in case of any loss or damage to stock or other exhibits from any
    cause; and upon this condition only are entries received.
12. The decision of the judges’ shall be final in all cases, except where error, fraud, misrepresentation or collusion,
    not discovered at the time of the award, is proven. In such cases, the Chairman or such referee as he may
    appoint may make decisions, or the case may be appealed to the Agriculture Manager, whose decisions shall be
    final.

13. Exhibitors failing or refusing to exhibit entry for any reason not satisfactory to the Agriculture Manager of the
    Fair shall forfeit all fees and rents paid by them, except where cancellation of classes, lack of housing or similar
    reasons may prevent exhibition of entry.
14. CATEGORIES 20 – 28 MUST COMPLY WITH 2008 BJCP GUIDELINES.
15. The organizing committee reserves the right to combine categories where necessary.
