I first notice that my knowledge was further along than that of my classmate in my ninth grade year, while in Geometry. I was doing very well in my class and was only a freshman, were as there were sophomores and a junior in my class that were struggling. I realized that I was taking a class that most freshmen don’t take their freshmen year and I was progressing very well in the class. At that point I decided to push myself to take all honor classes that were given at my school and some AP course while graduating an entire year early. I figure that by pushing myself that I would always be challenged, and I enjoy being challenged for it keeps me on my toes. As I future my education I will continue to push myself to become bright and be the best I can be at the field I go into. (Need to be long brain block, advice) Students approach service in many ways. I have limited myself to two major areas, that I devote most of my attention to when I am needed. One of those fields is tutoring at a community program called Monday Night Alive. This program was created to help student that are at risk of failing to go and get extra help every Monday night. I am one of the tutors who participate in this program and I am the tutor for mathematics. I devote my time to this program for I feel that it is my duty as someone with greater knowledge to pass on my information that I have acquired or tricks to student that need them to help them be better at school. I enjoy teaching students that are in high school who are struggling in mathematics, because I have a higher understanding for the subject and can explain to them on a one on one basic how to work a problem.
