house to the land that I will show you. And I

bless you and make your name great, so that
 you will be a blessing.
                                           5
II. Deuteronomy
+How do you view blessings vs. curses?
Deut. 11:26-28
"See, I am setting before you today a
blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey
the commandments of the LORD your God,
which I command you today, and the curse,
if you do not obey the commandments of the
LORD your God, but turn aside from the way
that I am commanding you today, to go after
other gods that you have not known.
                                            6
+How do you view blessings vs. curses?
Deut. 30:15-20
15 "See, I have set before you today life and good, death and
evil. 16 If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God
that I command you today, by loving the LORD your God, by
walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and
his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and
the LORD your God will bless you in the land that you are
entering to take possession of it. 17 But if your heart turns
away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship
other gods and serve them, 18 I declare to you today, that you
shall surely perish. You shall not live long in the land that you
are going over the Jordan to enter and possess. 19 I call heaven
and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before
you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life,
that you and your offspring may live, 20 loving the LORD your
God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your
life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the
LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to
 Jacob, to give them."

 covenant.
Jer 22:9 And they will answer, "Because they have
forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God and
worshiped other gods and served them."'"
Mal 2:10 Have we not all one Father? Has not one
God created us? Why then are we faithless to one
another, profaning the covenant of our fathers?
 Hosea 1-3
                                               8
-God promises an eternal _______to spring
 from David’s seed.
2 Sam 7:9-16
9 And I have been with you wherever you went and have cut off all
your enemies from before you. And I will make for you a great name,
like the name of the great ones of the earth. 10 And I will appoint a
place for my people Israel and will plant them, so that they may dwell
in their own place and be disturbed no more. And violent men shall
afflict them no more, as formerly, 11 from the time that I appointed
judges over my people Israel. And I will give you rest from all your
enemies. Moreover, the LORD declares to you that the LORD will
make you a house. 12 When your days are fulfilled and you lie down
with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall
come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall
build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his
kingdom forever. 14 I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a
son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of
men, with the stripes of the sons of men, 15 but my steadfast love will
not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from
before you. 16 And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure
forever before me. Your throne shall be established forever.'"

I break the bars of their yoke, and deliver them from the
hand of those who enslaved them. 28 They shall no more be
a prey to the nations, nor shall the beasts of the land devour
them. They shall dwell securely, and none shall make them
afraid. 29 And I will provide for them renowned plantations
so that they shall no more be consumed with hunger in the
land, and no longer suffer the reproach of the nations. 30
