                                       Stress symptoms
In this modern world, stress is so common that it has become a way of life. Only few people ever show
interest in finding ways to come out of stress, among which very few succeed in doing so. It is mainly
because only less than half the people ever take action on what they have learnt. Since this book

1) Mental State
This is one area of stress symptoms everyone are aware of, unable to take decisions, loss of usual
creativity, forgetfulness, uncertainty, constant worry, etc are some of the effects of stress on your
mental state. Stress can make smart people do stupid things.
Usually depending upon the cause for stress, its symptoms vary. Not only there are different kinds of
symptoms, but also there are different variations of same symptoms. Let me make it clear, Say you are
quite stressed at work, not being able to complete work by given deadline or your colleagues might not
be supportive, etc. Then you can find more uncertainty in your decisions regarding work rather than
relationship. With so much of stress at workplace, constantly brooding over some issue, you tend to
forget important things, thereby leading to frequent forgetfulness in your workplace, etc.
Have you ever witnessed your energy levels to be quite low when you are depressed? Why is it so?
It is mainly because, the more you are depressed, the more negative you feel, the more time you spend
worrying, more mental energy you spend, leading to less energy levels. Creativity flows only with

answer is yes. In this world everything works in a circular pattern, day and night, seasons, joys and

2) Physical state
Some of the negative effects of stress on your body are fatigue, body aches, constipation, diarrhea,
chest tightness, stomach upset, etc.
Have you ever noticed how tired you feel when in tension? It is mainly because you spend all your
energy on thinking/worrying process, as a result you feel physically tired.
Busy people tend to skip meals or eat on the go which is not good for proper digestion. They often
times maintain a fast food diet of too much meat and fats, and not enough fruit, vegetables and fiber.
This definitely has adverse effects on health. When you get ill because of your improper food habits, it
becomes hard to do your work, to maintain deadlines of your project and as a result you become more

3)Emotional state
Some of the effects of stress on feelings/emotions are irritability, impatience, tension, low self-esteem,
anger, loneliness, etc.
