All children attending Playgroup (including children and their families
who are visitors to the playroom/playgroup) have the right to be free from
harm, and to be respected and listened to, to feel safe with their carers and

expect all parents and staff to adhere to the processes of this policy. i.e.
no smacking, grabbing or shaking or shouting at any child. (Constraining
must be kept to the minimum and should be done only as a last resort in
order to protect a child or to protect another child)

In the event of a fire or other emergency from the Playroom, the use of
minimum restraint may be used for example if a child is reluctant to leave
the playroom then the adults on duty may lift the child to safety.

and updated.
All staff will undergo current and relevant training on child protection
issues. All staff have a duty to care and must report concerns about any
child.
