BusinessWeek Names Fisher Investments One of The Best Places to Launch a Career in 2008 Survey Fisher Investments (http://www.fi.com/), a leading investment adviser and money manager, has been named one of "The Best Places to Launch a Career" in BusinessWeek's third annual survey. "As one of America's largest and fastest-growing registered investment advisers, we offer many opportunities to talented, motivated college graduates seeking to start a career in our industry," said Ken Fisher, CEO and founder of Fisher Investments. "Our firm's unique culture is focused on delivering the benefits of our industryleading investment approach and research. We take pride in setting an industry standard with the exceptional quality of our service to high-net-worth individual and institutional clients." This is Fisher Investments' first appearance on the BusinessWeek list. Of the 119 firms listed in the survey, Fisher Investments was ranked number 90, and one of only 10 financial services firms in the rankings. Fisher and Vanguard were the only two firms on the list that are relatively pure plays on asset management. Fisher is one of the list's smaller firms, a testament to its commitment to human capital development. BusinessWeek's "The Best Places to Launch a Career" first surveys career services directors at U.S. colleges to learn which employers were at the top of their lists. Those employers then provide information on hiring, pay, benefits and training programs, which are compared to others in the same industry. Finally, Universum Communications, a Philadelphia research firm, surveys more than 40,000 U.S. undergraduates on their five most desirable employers. The BusinessWeek rankings combine the three components. Fisher Investments scored particularly well among career services directors and students. For the complete list and more information on it and Fisher Investments' survey profile, please visit http://www.businessweek.com/. Fisher Investments' assets under management total $40 billion-plus and grew by 286% in the four years from 2003 to 2007. In 2008, the firm completed the acquisitions of two other independent investment advisers that together had $525 million in assets under management. Fisher Investments' expansion plans include the construction of a large facility in Camas, Washington, on a 120-acre tract it acquired this year. In addition to its U.S. business, Fisher Investments has operations in Britain and a joint venture affiliate in Germany. Mr. Fisher has published four books on finance and investments and many academic articles including the 2007 New York Times Bestseller, "The Only Three Questions That Count." His upcoming book, "The Ten Roads to Riches," hits bookstores on October 20, 2008. In 2007, in association with John Wiley and Sons, Inc., Fisher Investments announced Fisher Investments Press, a publishing imprint offering education for broad investment audiences, with initial publications appearing early in 2009. Fisher Investments (http://www.fi.com/) has a total of 1,275 employees. In 2006 and 2007, Fisher Investments hired a combined total of 352 recent college graduates. So far in 2008, the firm has hired more than 180 recent graduates for entry-level positions and this number continues to grow.
