									             REIMBURSEMENT FOR GRE GENERAL AND GMAT EXAMS

1. APPLICABILITY: Officer, Warrant Officer, and Enlisted (AGR or traditional) Soldiers of
the OKARNG

2. PURPOSE: Soldiers are authorized to be reimbursed 100% on a one-time basis for the
Graduate Record Exam (GRE) General and the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
These exams are routinely required for admission to certain graduate schools.

(Available on JFHQ Homepage under J1 Tab-Education).

6. GENERAL INFORMATION: Effective 1 October 1999, the GRE GENERAL is
exclusively available as a computer based test (CBT) through National and International Test
Centers only. DANTES Test Center is no longer authorized to administer the GRE GENERAL
examination. The registration and scheduling policies and procedures are contained in the GRE
Information and Registration Bulletin on the GRE website: http://www.gre.org . DANTES
changed its GRE GENERAL funding policy. Effective 1 October 1999, the new policy requires
the examinee to schedule and pay for the GRE GENERAL up-front. DANTES will reimburse
the eligible examinee after the administration of the GRE GENERAL.

7. ACTION:

   a. Unit/Soldier:

      (1) Soldier is counseled by Education Office on GRE/GMAT reimbursement procedures.
(Key point is that Soldiers will not be reimbursed if they are no-shows at the Testing Center)

      (2) Soldier schedules the GRE or GMAT at one of the National Testing Centers.

      (3) Soldier obtains GRE/GMAT Form from JFHQ/J1/Education homepage.

      (4) Soldier pays for exam by credit card.

      (5) Soldier provides DANTES GRE/GMAT Reimbursement Form to National
Testing Center Officer for completion by testing center.
      (6) Soldier receives his/her official report.

       (7) Soldier/unit completes DANTES GRE/GMAT Reimbursement Form, attaches copy
of official GRE or GMAT score report a submits through unit of assignment to Education
Services Office.

   b. Education Services Office:

Completes the DANTES GRE/GMAT reimbursement form, verifies data and score report and
mails to Educational Testing Service.

   c. Educational Testing Service:

Verifies eligibility and reimburses Soldier for cost of exam by check or by electronic fund
transfer to Soldier’s credit card.
