 coordinators get the family members more
 involved in the education of their children?
           Parent Conferences

• Every 8-9 weeks
• At least 10-15 minutes each time
• Speak with teachers before hand to know what is
  going on with the student
• Strive for 100 %
         Parent Workshops

• Financial Aid night
   • Use local resources, colleges, etc.
• Computer night
   • Kids help parents
• Socials
   • Keep things light
              Fundraising

• Inform parents ahead of time (use email/call)
• Keep it simple
• Make it fun
               Events

• Inform parents ahead of time
• Give them a job, let them have ‘buy in’
• Find something they can ‘do’
            Newsletters

•   Make them interesting
•   Keep them simple
•   Not to long (they will not read it)
•   INFORMATIVE (make sure info is relevant)

• Pass cards out to EVERYONE
• Keep good contact list
• Stay in contact with people
• Send them the newsletter
• Don’t always ask for something when you see
  them
• Involve with service learning

• Invite community and business to your
  facility for meetings, speakers, etc

• Get your kids out in the community
