St Edward’s CE [C] First School
Learning and Caring Together
At St Edward’s CE [C] First School we are a family of people who care for and respect one
another. Our purpose is to create a happy, secure and caring community based upon Christian
values, in which children can develop confidence, individuality and a positive attitude to work.
We strive for excellence to enable children to achieve their full potential where everyone is
valued and encouraged to develop their gifts and talents fully.
Our home school agreement relates to guidelines issued by the Government (1999).
We welcome this opportunity of formally recognizing the partnership that exists between home
Teachers, Support Staff and Governors
Our School will aim to:
Provide an environment where children feel secure and respected as individuals; to nurture
their self-esteem and promote emotional health and wellbeing.
Develop the children’s sense of responsibility and independence to encourage good behaviour
and caring for each other.
Teach a broad and balanced creative curriculum to meet the needs of all the children;
monitoring and assessing their progress to ensure that they can achieve their full potential.
Create a welcoming environment and provide opportunities for parents/carers to become
involved in the life of our school; building good relationships with families and the wider
community to encourage a shared sense of belonging.
Keep parents/carers informed about general school matters and events through regular news
letters. Hold regular parents evenings/open days to view children’s work and discuss their
progress with the teachers.
Provide you with a written report once a year.
Contact you if a concern arises, or even to share some good news.
Liaise with other schools, particularly our cluster feeder schools to enrich the pupils’ experience
and ensure a smooth transition between each establishment.
Promote Christian values and maintain meaningful links with the Church.
