Win Recognition for your Wines in the Fast-Growing China Wine Market
The Shanghai International Wine Challenge 2011 (SIWC) is the country’s premier independent
and therefore most influential wine competition. Organized in association with international industry
professionals, the SIWC is designed to award excellence and recognize quality in wines which
concerning the China market.
The SIWC 2011 will hold in September, and the wines are judge by top International
sommeliers and experienced local and international tasters.
The Judge board is teamed up by 15 persons: 9 overseas wine experts and sommeliers, 1
Chinese wine expert, 3 overseas wine magazine columnists, 2 Chinese wine magazine
columnists.
New to SIWC 2011 event
SIWC 2011 will promote awarded wines through mobile app. (Both iphone and android versions).
Not only the name of wine, picture of wine, but also the entrant's contact information and agent's
contact information will be included in the apps. All wine lovers can download app for their reference
of wine choice. For any enquiry, please contact us at mobile@wineshanghai.com.

Entry into the Shanghai International Wine Challenge costs EURO 100 for each wine entered,
and there is no limit on the number of wines entered from a winery.

Rules for Entry
DEADLINES FOR YOUR DIARY
Forms should arrive at SIWC Committee office before Wednesday 10th August, 2011.
Sample wines should arrive at SIWC official warehouse between Monday 1st August and
Thursday 18th August, 2011. Late arrival samples will charge the extra fee as 20 euro per
bottle.
1. HOW TO ENTER
Select the wines you wish to enter into the SIWC.
Complete the entry forms, wine category sheet and return the entry form by fax to +86-21-
3126 3592, / email siwc@wineshanghai.com / post: Room 908, No.45-49 East Huaihai Road,
Shanghai 200021 China.
Full payment must be received with the entry form to confirm participation.
2. REQUIREMENTS
All wines must be labeled to show the name of the region and the geographical area of origin of
the wine, in addition to the year in which the grapes used were harvested. Non-vintage wines may
be given an award only if the previous point is adhered to, but in this case, no award stickers may be
attached to the wine’s container unless the wine is of recognized VQPRD (or its equivalent)
standard or above.
The wine must be made 100% from grapes grown in the country in which the wine is bottled,
with the exception of those cases of cross regional and inter-national blends recognized by the
appropriate nations.
3. ENTRY FEES
The entry fee is EURO 100 on each specification wine.
Entrants may submit as many wines as they wish.
Payment for the entry fee must be by telegraphic transfer. Entries will not be accepted without
payment in full.
The entry fees include participation in the Challenge, certificates and information listing on the
SIWC 2011 Awards Directory for participants’ winning wines.
4. NUMBER OF BOTTLES TO SUBMIT PER ENTRY
Three bottles (750ml/bottle) of wine must be submitted for every entry - two bottles for tasting
and one spare to allow for an out of condition sample, breakages, corkage, etc.

5. SENDING YOUR WINES
Each bottle must stick with the small note as: Sample Only, Not For Sale. And the outside of
the cases must mark as: SIWC 2011.
If you have a local distributor/agent, you may to arrange with them to deliver the wines to us.
Please indicate your local Chinese agent on the entry form.
For overseas participants, send your wines via the local airline logistic firms (do not using the
DHL, FEDEX, TNT, UPS or any door to door couriers as they can not doing the good customs
service on wine samples in China now), the destination airport is Shanghai Pudong airport, this
process is simple as we have our own official customs clearance service firm.

Note: The freight and delivery costs must pre-paid by the submitter. Failure to pay these fees
will result in your wines not being entered. Entrants are entirely responsible for the arrival
of their wines in time for the Challenge.
6. USE OF THE SIWC LOGO
Stickers of the SIWC logo, medals and trophies are available to Award winners. Any
unauthorized use, reproduction or alteration of the logo, trophies and medals is strict prohibited.
7. AWARDS
Please note that the judges may, at their discretion, not award trophies in certain categories or
they may create trophies in recognition of outstanding wines.
Every wine submitted is organized and numbered by the organizer.
- All bottles of wine are covered with opaque bags.
- Wines are poured to ensure similar wines are tasted together.
- Translated to the classic 100-point scale used by most wine industry publications, any wine with
a score of 83 points or better will make it to the Medal Category.
- The average score given by the board determines the color of the medal awarded to each wine.
- If two or more board members decide a wine does not deserve a medal, the wine is eliminated.
Translation of Medal Category into the 100-point scale
-*Bronze: 83-86 points. -*Silver: 87-90 points. -*Gold: 91+ points.

The Annual publication
The SIWC 2011 Awards Directory
The annually publication of the SIWC Awards Directory will be printed within 3 weeks soon
after the taste date. The SIWC Awards Directory will free distribute to the wine traders and
relative parties.
What is it inside
The full awards list of SIWC 2011, and the details information of the awarded wines.
How much information of one wine
Each wine got award at SIWC 2011, will have one free page (145mm X 210mm) space, there are
the information of this wine: wine picture, Award category, wine name, entrant contact information,
agent contact information and some other information from the entry form.
How many copies it will print out
The SIWC Awards Directory will be print out 5000 copies.
Who will receive the SIWC Awards Directory
The wine associations, wine wholesale traders, wine importers, wine shops, 4-5 stars hotels,
restaurants, and membership clubs in big China.
How much the price it sells
All of the SIWC Awards Directory is free to traders and the relative parties.
Where and how to get
We will distribute to the list from our data base. For the party not receive it, just call us or email to us
for the inquiry then easy to get it.
Advertisement
One page only cost at EURO 150 for SIWC entrant, EURO 230 for non SIWC entrant
The relative firms and parties are welcome to have the advertisement on this SIWC 2011 Awards
