The “-ing” and “-ed” Adjectives (Present and past Participles as adjectives)
(-ing ve -ed ile Yapılan Sıfatlar)


“‘-ing ve -ed” ekleri fiillerin sonuna getirilerek, fiillerden sıfat türetilebilir. Bunlar cümle içinde bir
ismi niteleyen sıfat durumundadırlar. Ama iki ekin kelimeye kattığı anlam farklıdır.


 “-ing” eki kelimeye aktif bir anlam katar. Yani söz konusu isim o fiili gerçekleştiriyorsa –ing ekini alır.
        Fighting boys, Dancing girls, Flying animals


 “-ed” eki ise kelimeye pasif bir anlam katar. Yani söz konusu isim           fiilden etkilenendir. Düzensiz
fiilerde fiilin üçüncü hali kullanılır.
        A broken chair, A stolen car, A murdered person

         My job is tiring
         I am tired of my job.


        His words confused me.
         His words are confusing
         I am confused by his words


        That problem annoys me.
         That problem is annoying
