PErforM - where did it come from?
• Developers:
– Workplace Health and Safety Queensland
– University of Queensland
– Curtin University of Technology (WA)
• Users include mining, health, manufacturing and
wholesaling, aged care, food processing, timber.

Why lifting technique training is not
enough?
• Evidence to date does not support lifting
technique training on its own as a control for
manual tasks risks.
• Risk factors are not changed.
