Day and other meetings and hearings on behalf of legislation affecting our businesses.
Active in MN Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus (MACVB) in staying abreast of
legislative issues pertaining to the tourism industry and working with hospitality
representatives and lobbyist.
Work actively and meet one on one with our elected officials (city, county & state level)
and DNR Commissioner to assure communication and action.
Write, review, gather and submit articles, press releases, and other materials as needed
for publicity and promotion of Lanesboro as a travel destination.
Respond to all media interviews and leads.
Special Groups & Events
Act as the main contact/referral for individuals, conferences, retreats or tour groups
wanting to plan events or activities in town that provide a positive economic impact on our

The Chamber contracts with a Special Events Coordinator to oversee the logistics of

Produce a weekly Depot Delivery electronic Constant Contact E-newsletter keeping all
members informed of current events and business hours.

community center. City Staff maintain the flowers.
Winter beautification: holiday lights and snowflakes. Chamber has purchased decorations
and City Staff install each year.
Trailhead & Visitor Center landscaping and signage kiosks projects in partnership with

Secure grant funding for marketing and ongoing initiatives.
Apply for matching grants through the State of MN Tourism Bureau, Explore Minnesota

with the Board of Directors.
Coordinate the work of the Chamber through Work Plan and Committees.
Cooperate with the City in advancing economic development and new business
Research most effective marketing strategies and execute the Chamber Marketing Plan
and its evaluation.
Eligible to Hold a Board Position. A Board of Directors consisting of nine members and
up to three ex-officio members manages the affairs of the Chamber. Each Director has a
3 year term with an option of a 1 year extended term.
Eligible to Hold a Committee Position. Committees will be established to support
accomplishment of the chamber goals.
Have the right to Vote. Each dues-paying membership shall be entitled to one vote, for
the purpose of electing the directors or transacting any other business that may properly
come before the membership.
