What is HIM?
Health Information Management
• Whenever healthcare is provided, medical records
must be created, reviewed and stored.
• These records can include any or all of the following:
1. Lab results- blood tests, urine tests etc.
2. X- Rays and other radiology procedures
3. Physicians notes
4. Clinical information (nursing notes, physical
therapy notes, and many others)
5. A History and Physical Exam
6. Operative and Procedure Reports
7. And much more
