JOB TITLE Assistant Site Warden
OVERALL PURPOSE To maintain Oriel y Parc (the building and all its interior spaces,
the grounds and car parks) to a high standard in order to
provide staff and visitors with a safe, secure and welcoming
environment. Integrating sustainability into all operations.
GRADE Salary up to £15,444 pro rata
RESPONSIBLE TO Site Warden and Oriel Y Parc Manager
LINE MANAGEMENT None
WORKING CONTACTS/ Visitors to the centre/car park, NPA and AC-NMW, cafe staff,
PARTNERS building maintenance and other contractors, the public and
coach representatives, suppliers and delivery staff, emergency
services, exhibition-removal specialists, artists in residence.
Job category (full or Part time permanent 2.5 days per week plus holiday cover.
part time, temporary or (2 days one week, followed by 3 days the next week)
Job roles evolve and vary over time, and therefore this job description will be reviewed and
updated as appropriate, normally at annual appraisal.
Monitor building and exhibition systems (heating, air conditioning, cctv etc) throughout the
site, and resolve any problems.
Monitor the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of the site:-
Carry out check of site daily, collecting litter and identifying items for action
Carry out routine or emergency repairs promptly and report major problems
Organise and supervise maintenance and service visits to site, including induction for
maintenance visitors, artists and exhibition related staff
Maintain and apply up to date working knowledge of relevant safety regulations
Ensure the safety of the site, ensuring safe practices
Supervise maintenance and service visits to site while on duty
Sort waste and recycling
General cleaning of building and site
We support flexible working, job share etc but we cannot always agree these arrangements.
Arrange furniture and equipment for meetings, clear away afterwards and set up for the
Assist customers around the site and building
Check that all vehicles in car park have parking tickets and issue notices where
Bank and record takings from car park machines
Vegetation control, grass cutting etc
Invigilate in the gallery when required
Install and breakdown of exhibitions
Any other duties as reasonably required March 2012
