                              MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
    Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen
This day, the 25th February 2011, is a historical day for IKSDP Teachers Training College.
This is the day on which we mark the first graduation Ceremony which is held in this college
after the release of the first ever PTE Examination results. It is also the first time the
graduation of PTE graduands is taking place in this college, after the release of PTE
results. Those graduands who have successfully completed their course and are now P1
teachers can join other teachers in the field of teaching to help in shaping of our children’s
    future and building our nation.

May I take this opportunity to first welcome the 2008-2010 students back to IKSDP
5 Nyandiwa Teachers Training College. All of us are very proud of you and we congratulate
you on your outstanding performance. We have also learnt that most of you have already
secured jobs in many of our schools both private and public and wish you every success
wherever you are. We cannot forget to thank your parents/Guardians who enabled you to
join our college at its inception and entrusted your future into our hands. I wish also to
warmly welcome them. The Ministry of Education officials, KNUT officials, KUPPET
officials and other dignitaries from different institutions, who tirelessly assisted in seeing
to it that this institution registered, feel welcome and enjoy with us today.

Our current student population is made up of students from all parts of the country. We
welcome this mixture since it provides the desired interaction which is healthy
professionally. It also fulfills education goal of National Unity. At present our student
population stands at 82.There are more males than females. The short period that our
graduands have been in the field, it has made a difference in their lives and served as a
motivation to shape their future. They should learn to put up with what is expected of an
ideal teacher, who can adapt to changes, since teaching is a noble, dynamic and creative
    profession.

These teachers are well prepared by trainers for their work and therefore their input in
the field should reflect the knowledge and Experience they gathered from IKSDP
    Nyandiwa Teachers Training College.

NOTE: Guest of Honour Sir at this juncture allow me give special thanks to our lectures
some of whom have been known to be retired yet they are not tired. They were very
flexible more than the young Kenyans we teach here because they were very ready to adopt
new environment in PTE curriculum. Because of that I congratulate them on this success.

Sir that is why I developed a philosophical definition of a teacher to be: TEACHER IS AN
ORGANISED MAD PERSON. Thus madness made our college for the first time to secure
position three (3) in Kenya in Teaching Practice. And position one (1) in Nyanza Province
    among Teacher Training Colleges.

I would like to thank all our Guests, parents/Guardians, teachers and finally the Guest of
Honour for sparing their valuable time to come and grace this occasion. I wish you all safe
    journeys back home

May God bless you all. Thank you.

    MICHAEL ONGOMBEH

    PRINCIPAL
                           MESSAGE FROM THE IKSDP MANAGER
    Our Guest of Honour Sir,
Our Visitors from World Scouts Bureau and Kenya Scouts Association,
Our Visitors from the Calabria for Harambee from Italy,
The Guests from the Ministry of Education
All our distinguished guests, parents and graduands
    Ladies and Gentlemen
May I take this opportunity to greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I warmly welcome you to enjoy the day with us and feel free and feel at Nyandiwa T.T.C
    Guest of Honour Sir,
Allow me remember some history about this compound on which we celebrate our 1st
6
    Graduation Ceremony today.
    i) The project started in 1983 with the main objective of creating awareness and
improving the standard living within the community of Nyandiwa, Gwassi, Suba
           and Kenya as a whole
ii) At the beginning we had the following activities
           a) Poultry
           b) Scouting
           c) Water Project which we are going to do its first anniversary in March 2011
           d) Zero Grazing
           e) Tailoring Course
           f) Fish farming
           g) We Built Kiwa Dispensary and Kisaku
           h) We managed to build Kikubi Primary school and part of Nyandiwa Primary
               School
All of them are existing except tailoring course which stopped because of failure to
    enrol committed trainees.
iii) After seeing the need for applied education and technology, the project
management decided to establish computer services and training on the
compound. Many people in the community have enjoyed the services of the
internet on the compound and have had the feeling of being connected to every
           relative and friends globally.
iv) Guest of Honour Sir, Our Vision was still projected to higher levels in Education.
And when the idea of starting a teacher training was proposed to us by the
Principal, Brownsea Foundation and Kenya Scouts Association gave an automatic
go-ahead. The college is graduating its first students who came for admission
and training against the wish of many detractors, people without a vision. I hope
some of them are here with us to justify the failure of Satan and Success of
           God

It is for this reason sir, that the IKSDP management chose on you, a man with vision
and wide experience in educational matters, to give us another automatic go-ahead and
commission us to work and read as pertains to the requirements and demands of our
    society-Kenya.
God bless all as we enjoy the day.
