      Founded in 1921, Nanshan Primary School, as a first-class school of Shenzhen City, is situated near
Nanshan Mountain and Qianhai Bay. It occupies an area of 10,000 square meters, with a construction area of
6,400 square meters. There are 28 classes all together at present, with the number of the students’ amounts to
1,425, and the teachers’ 78, among which 44 get the Senior Teacher Certificate. Our school has won lots of
titles such as Excellent Computerized Campus of the Nation, the Pioneer Base of 21st Century Art Education,
Special Contribution to the Environmental Education of Guangdong Province, the Advanced Gardenesque
Unit of Shenzhen and Advanced School in Nanshan District.
      Nanshan Primary School has gradually formed its own special modern educational perspective: It has
been confirmed that the school spirit is “to find virtue in harmony, seek truth in happiness, and win glory
through harmony and happiness”. Teaching style that “Love students by heart, enlighten them by wisdom and
inspire them by virtue” and the academic atmosphere that “be voluntary, be active and be cheerful to learn” are
highly valued. Our educational goal is “to implement Understanding Education and build a harmonious and
outstanding school”
      The teachers are advocated to “understand our students and teach with our hearts”, the students to
“understand our teachers and learn diligently”, and all of us to “understand ourselves and shape our life”.
      Nanshan Primary School adopts a development strategy of “revitalizing the school as well as teaching
with educational and scientific research”. It pays high attention to the exploration of educational and scientific
research. At present, our school independently undertakes the subject research of “study mode, teaching mode
construction and innovation to study under the environment of the network” of Central Audio-visual Education
Institute, and the provincial planning subject “the research in integrating information technology and discipline
teaching”. We also participate in the experiment of the key subject of “the tenth Five-Year-Plan”, such as “the
innovative experiment of great-leap-forward development of the elementary education and studies under the
environment of the network”, and “the study of development and innovation in Primary Chinese Language
Teaching”. By doing research, a lot of teachers become teaching and researching experts.
      Our School puts great emphasis on the enrichment of school culture and pays great efforts to explore
school-based curriculums to fulfill students’ all rounded development. The success in Young Pioneer, arts and
PE education has been the power that guides and drives the whole school on. Various extra curricular activities
offer the students chances to develop their special talents and effectively brighten the school spirit. In 2001,
Nanshan Primary School did such a good job in Young Pioneer staff that we were awarded Shenzhen Excellent
Young Pioneer Base. On behalf of Nanshan District, “The girls’ drum-and-trumpet team” got the first prize in
the Shenzhen Figure Exercise Parade. The Comprehensive Practice Activity called “Nanshanees Love
Nanshan” enjoys a big fame in and out of Shenzhen. The school-based curriculum such as Youran Literature
Club, English Drama Club, and Little Inventors’ Workshop etc clearly shows the personality and intelligence
of both the teachers and the students day by day.
      At present, Nanshan Primary School is sowing in the field of “Understanding Education”. Being
open-minded and innovative, we endeavor to establish a harmonious and outstanding school. In order to satisfy
