Contents: The speaker will share his experience in the quest for best practice in corporate occupational health and safety governance. Discussions will cover key features of governance and explain how it differs from management. Making reference to efforts made by safety professionals in the UK on the subject, the speaker will depict a framework for occupational health and safety governance. Top management of a corporate body can lead health and safety at work and design a ‘fit-for-purpose’ safety management system that is consistent with the model in the HSE Guidance HSG65 Successful Health and Safety Management.
