                                 POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:               Vice President of Development

JOB STATUS:                   Full-Time, Exempt

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Vice President of Development & Marketing is responsible for developing and
implementing the organization’s fundraising plan and activities to obtain revenue to support
G-CAPP’s goals. Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Development will share
responsibility for the financial development of the organization. The Vice President of
Development will serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, and also have excellent
communication skills and track record of solid fundraising.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising:
   Creates an annual comprehensive fund-raising plan that includes major gifts, annual giving,
    foundation grants, corporate sponsorship and support, and special events.
   Establish and monitor fund-raising goals and objectives
   Coordinate with President, board members, volunteers and staff to identify major corporate
    and individual for solicitation visits/calls.
   Manage all development initiatives including foundation relationships, donor cultivation and
    stewardship, and annual campaign.
   Oversee the development and writing of all grant proposals.
   Administrative responsibilities include supervision of development and marketing staff,
    departmental budget management, fundraising reports and analyses, managing donor
    database, and other administrative functions.
   Work closely with Vice President of Finance and Operations to coordinate financial reports
    and ensure that revenue goals are met.
Marketing:

   Supervise the Communications Manager and work with the Board Development and
    Marketing Committee to create and implement a marketing plan.
   Work with the President, board of directors and Communications Manager to promote public
    awareness of G-CAPP.
   Work with the Communications Manager to coordinate all messaging, website and print
    materials to support fundraising activities and donor relations.
   Maintain the financial records for all events, including annual Premier and all other
    sponsored events for G-CAPP. Ensure all relevant documentation is on file.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

   Advanced Degree or Bachelor Degree with equivalent experience
   Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred

Experience:

   8+ years of senior-level professional development and marketing experience, at least four of
    which should be with a non-profit organization
   Demonstrate success in planning and execution of fundraising initiatives including
    conceptualizing plans and strategies, developing materials, writing cases, evaluating progress
    and delivering results
   Demonstrated success in development and management of comprehensive fund-raising
    programs that incorporate major gifts, annual giving, individual giving, foundation grants,
    corporate sponsorship and support, and special events
   Demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships with colleagues, board members,
    major donors, prospects and volunteers

Skills:

   Excellent leadership skills and the ability to create a high-performance environment
   Knowledge of and commitment to adolescent health and youth issues
   Exceptional writing, listening, and verbal communication skills
   Detail oriented and able to work well as a team player
   Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, as well as Raiser’s Edge
   Administrative and supervisory skills
