Grade 8 Social Studies Assignment Homes and Structures in 19th Century Newfoundland
Due Date: Thursday, Feb 3rd.
Students are to construct a model of a 19th century home that would be found in Newfoundland.
Materials for the model can be chosen by the student; however the examples that were shown in class
were constructed with cardboard boxes and popsicle sticks glued on the outside to represent the siding
on the houses. Other options for materials include Styrofoam and wood. The models can be white with
black trim or a bright color with contrasting trim.
The model should represent one of the following housing styles we have studied during Ch. 5
