Greek Week 2011 Central Committee Application Applications are due Wednesday, October 27, 2010 by 12:00 p.m. in the Greek Affairs Office, 0355 Memorial Union (No late submissions will be accepted). Please submit 3 typed copies of your application along with 3 copies of your proposal (maximum of six pages). Please sign-up for an interview time between October 31st – November 4th (list posted in the Office of Greek Affairs, 0355 MU). Below is a list of the positions available and a short description of each: Marketing/Media Coordinators (2) Internal duties: Handle promotions, design of logo and shirts, order clothing, nametags, and awards, as well as coordinate Greek Week Central photograph (If applying please bring your portfolio). External duties: Promote the Greek Community around the Iowa State and Ames Community. Organize slide shows for various events during Greek Week. Sponsorship Coordinators (2) Food/Beverage duties: Contact area businesses for sponsorship of food and beverage items. Equipment duties: Contact area and campus businesses for sponsorship of equipment (gators, walkie-talkies, etc). Organize and host such events as the Greek Week Barbeques. Community Service Coordinators (2) Set-up and carry out individual chapter community service projects and a citywide community service effort. Present money raised to applying organizations and causes. Greek Aide Coordinators (2) Interview and select Greek Week Aides and Captains to assist in Greek Week activities. Educate and coordinate schedules of the chosen Aides and Captains with necessary Greek Week events. Tournament Coordinators (2) Plan and execute tournament brackets. Work with Greek Aide Coordinators, as well as Greek Week Central, to officiate all events. Fiscal Coordinator (1) Coordinate budget, handle all expenses, and record weekly meeting minutes. Assist Central Committee with financial needs. Computer skills and budget experience are encouraged. Preference will be given to someone who will not be graduating in May 2011. Spirit Coordinators (2) Plan and facilitate the Greek Week karaoke, storefront window displays, and banner displays. Devise new and inspiring ways to keep the spirit in the Greek community alive and radiant. Coordinate Greek Week Kick-Off event. Logistics Coordinators (2) Work in correlation with other Central Members to reserve tents, tables, chairs and other miscellaneous objects. Ensure the proper procedures for any on campus event are followed. Work with the city of Ames in coordinating any barricades or parking restrictions. Lip Sync Coordinators (2) Coordinate Lip-Sync production by communicating with Lip Sync Chapter Co-Chairs, reviewing patents and organizing facilities for Lip Sync events. Greek Olympics Coordinator (1) Develop appropriate events, rules and risk management procedures to ensure a successful Greek Olympics. Work during Greek Olympics to guarantee all events run as planned. Vespers Coordinator (1) Organize final award ceremony with a guest speaker, award presentations, Greek recognition, and faculty appreciation. The Vespers coordinator will also create a media review of the year, develop the ceremony script as well as emcee the ceremony. In your Greek Week Proposal, please include: goals, ideas and improvements for your position and Greek Week overall (maximum of 6 pages). All Greek Week Central members must be at least 2nd year students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5. The Central Committee is open to anyone, not just to people who have previously served on a Greek Week Central Committee. Feel free to apply even if you have limited Greek Week experience.
