Major General Delwyn R. Eulberg, P.E.
The Civil Engineer
HQ USAF/A7C
1260 Air Force Pentagon
Washington, DC 20330-1260

Dear Major General Eulberg:

The Washington DC Post of the Society of American Military Engineers will hold its
thirteenth annual awards program on 28 January 2009 to recognize individual achievements.
We are asking for your help in obtaining nominations from the US Air Force. There are eight
award opportunities for individuals described in Attachment 1. The awards have a broad
eligibility so engineer and non-engineer-members of SAME may qualify for one of the
awards.

The achievements of Air Force personnel are manifold, and we hope you will encourage
your staff to take this opportunity to recognize deserving individuals. Top nominees and
award recipients will be recognized at an awards luncheon at the National Press Club on
January 24, 2008. The Washington DC Post will also nominate the award recipients for a
National SAME award.

We request nominations be submitted using the form in Attachment 2 by November 29. I
also invite you to present one of our awards at the January luncheon. If you have questions
about the program, please contact our Awards Committee chairman, David Schoenwolf. His
telephone number is 703-336-6206.

                                                 Sincerely,

                                                 Nelson Mix, CDR, USPHS
