					                     Archdiocesan Band Program at St. George Catholic School
                             “Making A Joyful Noise Unto The Lord”
St. George is part of the Archdiocesan Band Program that serves 42 schools through the Office of Catholic
Schools. Band classes will be offered twice weekly before school from 7:30 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. for Advanced
Bands (Mon & Wed. or Tues & Thur. * Adv. Band Class Placement based on playing level); and after school
for Beginner Band on Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Friday mornings may be used for section
rehearsals and individual help as needed. John Gerbrecht will return as Director, and Assistant Director will be

At the beginning level, six basic band instruments will be demonstrated: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet,
trombone, drums. Students will have the opportunity to try-out each one before making their selections. Parents
and students are asked to make a commitment for at least a year so students can develop basic skills, and Mr.
Gerbrecht and Mrs. Dupre can make an adequate evaluation.
A successful band program depends on many people. STUDENTS must put forth the necessary effort by
practicing at home, attending classes with instrument and music. Parents, encourage your child to set goals so
that she/he is prepared to take advantage of musical events offered: school concerts, special programs, honor
bands. We commend you for making this investment in your children’s future.
PLEASE MAIL REGISTRATION FORM WITH PAYMENT DIRECTLY TO THE ARCHDIOCESAN
BAND PROGRAM. BOOKS, MATERIALS, AND PROGRAM MUSIC WILL BE ISSUED ONLY
AFTER REGISTRATION IS PROPERLY PROCESSED. The teacher will be sent a copy of the completed
forms and you will be placed on our mailing list. Since our teachers’ salaries depend upon your prompt
payment, we would appreciate your cooperation. There is no charge for a third child in the family.
Payment is due as follows:
        1. Total amount for the year sent with the Registration Form due by Sept. 15:         $ 295.00

        2. Payment Plan:       Initial payment of $ 185.00 sent with the Registration Form due by Sept. 15:
                               Balance of $ 110.00 due by December 1, 2009

Full payment would be appreciated.
A $ 40.00 non-refundable registration fee is included. A $ 50.00 fee will be charged for each NSF check.
