                                   FIRST RESPONDER TRAINING

      Universally recognized as the entry-level emergency care provider certification within the EMS
       system.
      Certifies the sport medicine professional with a standardized level of emergency care as a
       “First Responder”.
      The First Responder integrates within the scope of their local EMS system, allowing better
       access, communication and collaboration during the preparation and execution of emergency
       medical interventions in the environment of sport.

      Emergency Medical Services System and Chain of Survival
      Emergency Action Plan, Scene Survey and Mechanism of Injury
      Preventing Disease Transmission
      Primary Survey, Secondary Survey and Vital Signs
      Airway Management: Oral Pharyngeal Airway, Naso Pharyngeal Airway, Nasal Canula, Non-
       Rebreather Mask, Pocket Mask and Bag Valve Mask
      Oxygen and Suction
      CPR Level HCP (Health Care Provider) and Automatic Electrical Defibrillation
      Shock, Anaphylactic Shock, Bleeding, Pressure Dressing and Pressure Points
      MSK Trauma: Fractures, Dislocations, Splinting, Slings and Sager Femoral Traction Splint
      Soft Tissue Injuries: Impaled Objects, Extruded Eye, Neck Laceration, Amputation and Burns
      Head Injuries, Spinal Injuries and Spinal Immobilization
      Sport Protective Equipment Removal and Extrication Tools
      Medical Emergencies: Respiratory, Cardiac, Diabetes, Stroke and Seizure
      Lifting and Moving Patients
      Chest Trauma: Sucking Chest Wound and Flail Chest
      Abdominal Trauma: Evisceration
      Heat and Cold Injuries
      Multiple Casualty Incidents and Triage

    Certified Athletic Therapist with 18 years of sports medicine field experience working with
      professional, university and national team athletes.
    12 years of emergency care and sport medicine teaching experience at McMaster University,
      Sheridan College, Mount Royal College and Sports First Responder.
    Head Athletic Therapist for the Canadian Women’s National Softball Team.
    Canadian Pro Rodeo Sports Medicine Team Member.
