Local businesses partner with the Starlight Children’s Foundation annual Holiday Joy Drive to
make an impact for seriously ill children in Colorado.
DENVER—November 26, 2008– Local businesses generously collect toys for Starlight Children’s Foundation annual
Holiday Joy Drive. The donated toys are delivered to all pediatric care centers in hospitals throughout Colorado.

The Holiday Joy Drive runs from December 1st through December 15th.

Colorado residents can support Starlight’s Holiday Joy Drive one of three ways:
          1. Drop a new, unused, unwrapped toy at any Public Service Credit Union location. For a complete list of
our donation sites, please visit our website at www.starlight-colorado.org to find a collection site in your
              area.
          2. Purchase a toy from Starlight’s Wish List at www.amazon.com. Search Starlight Joy Drive as the wish list.
          3. Donate cash online at www.firstgiving.com/starlightjoydrive

Last year, over 10,000 toys were collected and delivered to 59 hospitals, just in time for holidays! For most hospitals,
this delivery from Starlight’s Holiday Joy Drive is their only source of new toys for all the well-deserving children they
treat.

This annual tradition brings much joy and holiday cheer into the lives of many children grappling with serious and
prolonged illnesses. The Santa-sized smiles on the sweet little faces in hospitals over the holidays are what keep this
tradition running strong.

The support by Colorado residents, in partnership with these local businesses is incredibly crucial to Starlight’s mission,
offering distractive entertainment to seriously ill children. With this, we hope these children are able to forget their illness,
even for a short time and enjoy just being a kid.

What can you do? Bring a new, unwrapped toy to any of the local businesses listed below. Hospitals are in great
need of toys for infants and teenagers. The annual Holiday Joy Drive collects toys for children from birth to age 18.

About Starlight Children’s Foundation Colorado
Starlight Children’s Foundation Colorado helps seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and
isolation through entertainment, education and family activities.

When a child or teenager has a serious medical condition, everyone in the family is affected. The kids, their parents and
siblings struggle, in different ways, to grapple with the intrusion of illness or serious injury into their lives. Starlight
Colorado understands what families go through when a child is sick, and how important it is for families to find relief from
constant worry and isolation. Our entertainment, education and family activity programs have been proven to distract
children from their pain, help them better understand and manage their illnesses, and connect families facing similar
challenges so that no one feels alone. For more information, visit www.starlight-colorado.org.
