Main Office Vault Teller
Department: Teller & Branch Operations Date: August 4, 2011
Reports to: Main Teller Supervisor; AVP, Personal Banking Manager
Summary:
Ensures that the cash needs of the Main Office Vault, Branches and ATM’s are met. Processes
commercial bags delivered by courier service. Prepares change orders for commercial customers.
Buy and sell money from Federal Reserve Bank on a weekly basis. Balance and replenish ATM
cassettes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Accuracy
Handling of all transactions pertaining to cash and cash items
Losses incurred will be considered as over/short for that month
Balance vault daily-maintain balancing in accordance with bank policy
Maintain established requirements for proof errors, customer transaction errors,
endorsement errors and incomplete work
Process commercial bags brought in by armored courier
Order and store supply of expense checks, cashiers checks, counter checks and postage
stamps for all branches
Process loose coin
Order coin and currency from Federal Reserve Bank
Prepare change orders for commercial customers and branches
Ensure vault cash balances are in accordance with bank policy
Balance and replenish ATM cassettes
Process proof work accurately and within time deadlines utilizing branch capture
procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
2. Timeliness
Balance vault daily within 15 min, 80% of the time
Ensure that all outstanding teller exchanges, cash items, holdover and suspense items
are cleared within designated time limits.
All shipments to branches and Federal Reserve must be ready to coincide with armored
car delivery schedules
3. Customer Service/Teamwork
Provide courteous, accurate and timely service to internal and external customers
Follow the core values and standards set by the bank
Offer willingness and cooperation to co-workers in all departments of the bank
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or
ability required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Two years
previous banking experience required with minimum of four years high volume cash handling
required. Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately. Possess the
capacity to read and comprehend instructions, and be extremely detailed and organized. Must be
able to effectively communicate information to customers and co-workers. Possess the ability to
apply common sense understanding in everyday duties and in unusual situations. Must have the
ability to learn and use teller machine, basic computer functions, and calculator.
Work Environment:

to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be

stand long periods of time, operate office machines, must have dexterity to handle money, and be
able to lift up to 30 pounds. Good vision is also required for close work and long distances. The
noise level is moderate (loud during times the coin counter is in use). This employee must have
the ability to work in confined quarters.
